Vehicle description
1972 Rectrans Discover 25 motorhome(s). Designed by Larry Shinoda who also designed the original Boss Mustang"s and early 1960"s Corvettes including the Mako Shark. Dodge powertrain, 413 engine with 727 torque-flite transmission on a M-300 chassis, Class "C". The only RV that ever had hood-pins from the factory and a fiberglass hood. Made in Brighton Michigan by White motors for 3 years only. All fiberglass body/shell with rear bathroom option. From the front they look like the space shuttle or chopped due to the trapezoid windows. I have two available and I will not separate them. A close friend and I purchased them both but his health is very poor so we have decided to sell them. The gold one runs, drives and steers but no brakes. Original interior including all appliances and beds along with captain"s chairs and table, but it is all there. Generac generator is in place, unsure of it"s condition. 16.5 tires and rims that hold air but I will include a complete set of six 16 inch tires( radials) and rims with low miles. Clear title in his name. The blue one is just for parts. Front windshield is broken but any 1970"s Dodge van windshield will fit. Original interior is there including stove, furnace fridge and Generac generator and double bunk beds. There is no title for the blue one. The rear bumper slides out to allow a motorcycle or bicycle to be transported. The blue one also has the "macerator" exhaust that originally burned the grey (waste) water contents with the exhaust. The blue Discover engine is a 413 but the intake, carb and air cleaner are missing. The floor is soft up by the engine. Captain"s chairs are missing. Tires and rims are 16 inch BF Goodrich radials with Weld aluminum rims. Generac generator is in place. Aftermarket front grille is cracked. Both roofs will need attention or re-sealing. They all do. Our original plan was to swap a turbo diesel and update the interiors with hardwood flooring. The fiberglass shells are in great shape and the frames are straight. Plus, With the all of the parts used from the blue one if needed. Again, Both of these are 45 years old. I will gladly store them for 30 days after full cash payment is received. Buyer arranges shipping. They will fit on a 30 foot trailer for transport. I will answer any questions to the best of my knowledge. For sale locally and I can end this auction at any time. Look at my feedback and bid/ win with confidence. Potential buyers with less than 10 positive feedbacks will be cancelled. Not interested in any trades. Both are being sold as is. The Chrysler (Mopar) outboard on the rear bumper is just for "looks". I found it in the rear storage compartment. Very few of these left and they do draw a crowd when being driven or parked. A $500.00 dollar deposit, non-refundable is due 7 days after the auction ends.
