Vehicle description
Please read and ask questions after :)This is a well loved 1972 Airstream trailer, owned by our family since 2006. Since we"ve owned it we"ve traveled mostly the east coast from the Adirondacks down to (most recently) Savannah, Georgia and Naples, FL. We"ve taken it as far west as Denver, CO. It has lived in Virginia since we bought it Thanksgiving weekend in 2006 from Kentucky. It is not easy for us to part with, but it is time for a camper to fit our family of 5. Last summer we updated the curtains and upholstery. In the front the dining table converts to a bed, which not exact in size, but approximately the size (if not bigger) than a king sized bed. There are two beds in the back, with a rear bathroom with shower/tub, sink and toilet. It has a nice working air conditioner, you can"t vacation in Florida in the summer without one! As far as heat we use a propane heater in the front and a mr buddy propane heater in the back if necessary. Tires are new as of last year, with the big trip being doing to Florida and back. it has 3 awnings, however the big one on the entry side does not "spring/roll" back and needs to be manually rolled up, and there is a tear at a seam in the center of the awning. The rear awning and "drivers" side awning, work and look great. GVWR 7100 lbsManufactured 05/72The refrigerator does not work. It is supposed to be gas and electric but neither work. We have really only used the shower maybe once in the past 14 years, but it does have a hot water heater. We also rarely used the sink in the kitchen, but they do work. We just tend to use the facilities at the campgrounds. It tows great, and straight. We tow with a 2008 Chevy Suburban. Comes with sway bars as well. You are welcome to inspect in person if in the area. We are 40 minutes west of DC. Buy is responsible for arranging pickup and removal within 7 days of auction close. Deposit within 24 hours of auction close. We will answer any questions to the best of our ability. This is ready to go camping as is, or as a restoration project if you wish to take one on. Kitchen is in original condition with a 4 burner stove, that we use every time we camp. OH - Damage to the rear happened prior to our purchase. We call it a battle wound. Honestly not sure what happened to it. New panels I believe cost $750 (? ) from Airstream.
