Vehicle description
1971 Jeep Kaiser M35A2 “RAMBO” 4X4 Bobbed-Deuce Hello, being offered for purchase is my personally owned 1971 Jeep Kaiser M35A2 “Bobbed Deuce” Military truck known as “RAMBO” (just a knick-name). RAMBO was professionally converted from a 2.5 ton (aka Deuce and a half) double rear-axle truck by BOYCE EQUIPMENT in Ogden, Utah in 2015 for a local firearm business. It was proudly displayed at the firearm store for many years. BOYCE’S conversions start at $25,000 (includes the truck) per their website. The conversion generally includes going through the whole truck and reconditioning the vehicles as needed. Part of their conversion included removing one of the two rear axles, shortening the frame, and adding a military-grade bed. Custom welded wheels and a fiberglass hardtop with rear window (removable) was also included in the build. Overall, the truck has a footprint of about 20’, which is no longer than my previous 68 Cadillac Coupe DeVille, it"s obviously a little wider and taller though. RAMBO changed owners a few times and was acquired by a friend of mine. Some months later, I purchased it from my friend and have owned it now for the last year and a half. The rig is an absolute hoot to drive around but you’ll need to eat your Wheaties before doing so. It’s old, it’s a manual transmission, has no power steering, no heater and no A/C, and yet it’s just an absolute blast to drive and get some SERIOUS looks in it, everyone loves this rig! RAMBO is powered by the famous 7.8l WHITE multi-fuel turbo diesel engine. It runs on a variety of fuels, but diesel is the best. It doesn’t win any races (max speed is 56 mph per the military dash plaque), but it’s been very reliable and has never left me stranded. I have made it a point of starting the truck at least every week to keep things juiced up and it has never failed me, even in the dead of cold. I replaced one of the main batteries last year to the tune of $300, and I did an oil change on the truck when I bought it that included both large oil filters and the 23 quarts of oil. It does have a few old-car leaks, but nothing serious so I have never addressed them. The e-brake drum brake shoes (on the driveline) rattle when not engaged and needs to be adjusted. Very minor surface rust on drivers fender (please watch video). Please watch my 12 min. walk-around and test-drive video on YouTube here : https:/ youtu.be/LKv9TnspYD0 State of Utah title is in my name. Registration (in Utah) is easy as it qualifies as a Utah Vintage Vehicle ($10 year reg fees) per Utah requirements and is truly driven to car shows or parades. Insurance is simple as well, after all, it’s a 1971 Jeep on the title. This is the PERFECT vehicle for an enthusiast or business wanting to make an advertising statement. Gun store, Military clothing, coffee place, you name it, this will get more looks on the side of the road over any expensive sign. I"ve had my fun with RAMBO and now it is up to someone else to enjoy for a bit! I kept it around last year for the apocalypse, but it looks like we"re over that (I hope at least). ;-) Located in South Jordan (SLC), Utah. $500 deposit immediately due upon auction end (via Paypal), the remaining funds due within 7 days and by certified funds only. I certainly welcome an in person sale and it is listed for sale locally. Shipping will the be responsibility of the buyer, but I understand it is not that difficult to find a trucking company to transport this (according to Boyce Equip). Thank you and best of luck.
