Vehicle description
THIS WILL PROBABLY BE THE LAST TIME LISTING THE TRUCK BECAUSE IT WILL BE GOING INTO STORAGE FOR THE WINTER SOON.
For sale is my 1970 M35A2, I bought this truck on in 2013 and at that time it had 20166 miles on the odometer and now has 22858, it may have more at the time of sale. The truck runs, drives, and stops as it should and everything works well. Included are Wix fuel, oil, and air filters for two changes (all and the oil were just changed), copied TM manuals, extra cord for the bed cover and all cords have already been replaced on the cover, new batteries on 9-18-2018, new fuel lift pump from Olympic in 2014. Plus other misc. spare parts pictured. I have stored the truck in a heated shop in the winter and started it monthly while stored. The paint on the truck is old and missing in places. It is showing minor surface rust where the paint is chipped or cracked, and I included a picture of what looks like a rust issue on the drivers side of the cab. The truck does need the front axle steering boot replaced. The tires have less tread now than stated below by the former owner. If you would like to look at the truck before bidding or have questions please contact me through eBay. The truck is almost 50 years old and is being sold as-is with no warranty.
Buyer must make a $500 deposit and make contact within 24 hours after auction ends. Cash preferred and full payment and pickup within 14 days of auction end. Certified bank check OK but must be received within 5 days so I can verify it. Pickup truck with 14 days after check clears. This truck can not be exported. Ask any questions before bidding.
THE FOLLOWING IS THE AD THAT WAS POSTED BY THE FORMER OWNER ON EBAY IN 2013 WHEN I PURCHASED THE TRUCK. I HAVE INCLUDED IT TO SHOW ALL THE WORK HE PUT INTO THIS TRUCK.
Here"s a great 1970 M35A2 With lots of extras. Stored inside since I purchased from GL in "09, this was overhauled at Tooele depot in 1990, and Tan CARC applied in 2003. Everything works on this truck. Has LDS TD engine block and air shift transfer case. This has new LED headlights, LED front turn, and LED rear lights, automatic reverse lights, license plate light, 24 volt marine engine pre-luber with pressure indicator light, battery shut-off switch, Isspro pyrometer, 6 in bed tie-downs, and hard top cab enclosure with heater. Spring drivers seat suspension with great cushions, passenger seat has new canvas and new heavy-duty automotive grade foam cushions. Has the seldom seen hinged rear mudflaps. Steer tires are 2005 Titans with about 80% tread, rears are assorted brands with about 60% tread. Has 3 seat belts. Cargo cover and bows were new about 4 years ago, and there are NO rips or repairs on cover. Wood troop seats are in good condition. Has both static and folding front bumper steps. Fuel density compensator has been bypassed by Uncle Sam for diesel use only, but is easily hooked up if you wish to run alternative fuels. In my opinion a diesel should run clean diesel! There are many new parts and recently maintained items on this truck. All wheel bearings cleaned & packed (3 new), All new inner & outer wheel seals. New king pin bushings, New brake linings and wheel cylinders. All new rubber brake lines. Valve lash recently adjusted and new rocker cover gaskets installed. New radiator, new Selectro lockouts, new radiator & heater hoses, new coolant, new belts, new flasher, silicone steering boots, gas shocks, new fuel return lines. low hours on fluids and filters. New drivers side door latch mechanism and locking door handle. Has 2 group 31 Delco batteries on steel mount, but original battery box is included. Hood hinges, throttle pedal pivot, and throttle bellcrank pivot have all been machined and oversize pins installed to restore fit. Modified to use modern windshield wiper blades. Fuel has been turned up slightly, as stated earlier there is a pyrometer ( pre turbo ) to monitor exhaust gas temperatures. This will cruise nicely at its maximum safe speed of 55 MPH, and hold that speed well up hills. Injectors have new nozzles, and have been calibrated to within 20 PSI of each other, There is no haze at idle, and moderate black smoke under load. Starts instantly, and manifold flame heater functions for cold weather starts. Acceleration is much quicker than your average deuce, but fuel is at a safe level. I am a John Deere tech, and take care of my diesels! Current Iowa title. Will come with winter front radiator cover, hydraulic jack, New wheel wrench with bar, gladhand air hose with Milton chuck/gauge and air gun, wheel chock, magnetic heater for oil pan (so preluber can draw oil in cool temps) 1/2 gallon DOT 5 brake fluid and new pressure bleeder unit, spare fuel return line and fittings, spare (used) belts, hoses and other parts, safety reflectors. This truck has never let me down, and I wouldn"t hesitate to drive it anywhere. Dogbone rubber is all in great condition. I have NOT used for an off road beater, mudder or run through flood water. Has mounts on bumper for flags with 2 small drop in brass flag poles/ flags included. Frames on sides of bed are easily removed, they are for banners used in parades. This truck has all the upgrades and maintenance items done that most people spend thousands of dollars and dozens of hours on and is definitely good to go. That said, it is 43 years old and is being sold as-is with no warranty. On Aug-02-13 at 05:56:50 PDT, seller added the following information: To add a few basics: The M35A2 deuce has an LDT 465 (478 CID) 6 cylinder inline turbocharged multifuel diesel engine manufactured by Continental, Hercules or White. Capable of using alternative fuels in an emergency situation by means of a fuel density compensator which varies fuel delivery based on the viscosity of the incoming fuel. Some owners use alternative fuels all the time. IE 50/50 mix of filtered waste oil and clean diesel. I do not use these fuels. This particular engine has been built at depot using an LDS thick deck engine block from a 5-ton application, which has piston cooling jets and a thicker deck for increased clamping loads on head bolts to withstand higher fueling rates and HP. All other peripherals are LDT. There is a two-speed transfer case that can be shifted on the fly, and a 5 speed overdrive synchro transmission, so under heavy load this can be split shifted- 1,2,3,4,5 low to 4,5 high. Brakes are all drum, an air boosted Hydraulic system, no airbrake endorsement needed like the 900 series trucks. The GVWR of this vehicle is 24,500, and weighs 13,500 empty. This is rated to carry 2 1/2 tons cargo cross country, or 5 tons on road. Cargo box is a full 8x12 feet.
