Vehicle description
CHEVY C40 DUMP TRUCK
* 1970 V-8 with Omaha Standard livestock box, 8" x 12" with 40" sides & 34" fold-up extensions. VIN: 430P 41403. Model CE41403.
* GVW rating 10,500 lbs. Heavy front springs, 17,500 lb. rear springs with
auxiliary leaves. Transmission: 4 speed and reverse.
* Mileage: 88,088. Tires: 750-20 (5 of these are good with good tread & no cracking. One will need replacing before too long.) Brakes: vacuum brake booster. Wheels: 20 x 6.0 disc. 6.17 ratio
* Condition: runs good. Has 350 V-8 engine. Hoist works good (Heil model 1715F). I just had it serviced (pulled cable that controls on-off box and cleaned and lubed it, had hydraulic fluid drained and replaced.) This is a great running truck with good brakes, turn signals, lights, heater, etc. The only things not working are the radio (never tried to fix) and the speedometer (it broke several years ago, but I have traveled less than two thousand miles since it broke). So the actual mileage is less than 90,000. It does not have power steering, so turning from start takes a little effort, but on the road, no problem.When not in use, it has been in shed. I am selling because my son purchased a very large dump truck and a dump trailer that I can use. I have religiously serviced this Chevy C40 on a regular schedule.
* Two 40 gallons saddle fuel tanks plus in-cab tank.
* 12 volt to 110 watt converter for operating electrical devices.
* Price: $3195. Makes great wood hauler or trash collection, plus dirt, sand, livestock, and rock hauling.
* * Contact by email (no texting) or by cell phone (Pacific time zone: 8 a.m.- 9:00 p.m.): 509-899-0040.
It is a myth that you can not purchase new 7.50-20 tires. True they are more difficult to find, but Ellensburg Tire can get them. You can also put 8.25-20 tires on this truck and they are more readily available.
Buyer must pick up or arrange shipment.
