Vehicle description
1969 Dodge Xplorer21. Fits in standard garage. Very rare-only manufactured for a couple of years. Bought this 2 years and had it shipped in from Arkansas. Purchased from Arkansas owner who bought it from AZ where it had been sitting 7 years.
Previous owner did the following: (Pulled fuel system apart end to end replaced rubber. Pulled master cylinder and replaced with new, flushed all lines, removed add-on Power Brake stuff, replaced with new brake lines and kept Power stuff for later re-install. Pulled oil pan to get broken oil stick tube out, replaced gaskets and seals. Drained, refilled transmission. Greased and lubed chassis and rear end. Replaced belts and hoses including Power Steering. Flushed radiator. Bought 5 new Goodyear tires installed on original wheels, topped off with original wheel covers. It cranked right up, sounds good, drives good. Body is VERY solid, desert helps. All things to do with Dodge work, lights, gauges, instruments, heater, wipers etc. Never have gotten to any plumbing or gas check out but fridge works on 12V and 120V. Had new mattress of 7" high density foam made off original pattern. Have front and rear cots. Have child bed that goes on motor cover (needs recovered). Have 2 tables one for in one for out. Rear window currently Plexiglas, have proper glass one goes with it.Windshield gasket leaks, keep it covered when rain threatens. Black when I got it, sanding back to original white and aqua the gray you see is primer sealer that was applied before the black, it"s good stuff thought I"d leave it till paint time. Patina looks pretty cool though. Shows 86k miles, might be true looking at rubber.)
I have not had the time to continue the restoration and I am parting with this cool van for someone else to enjoy. Not interested in trades or help in selling. Clean, clear title in my name. The last four images are restored examples for reference and are not my Dodge.
