Vehicle description
This beautiful Step Van camper was built in 1970 on a 1969 chassis. It was always in California. It has the original Black License Plates issued in California until 1970. It did not come to California after years in another state. Beware of the fake black plates! ! The wood interior is completely original and in very good condition. It was always a camper and not converted from a delivery truck. The front seats are new. The interior wood surfaces were refinished in Varathane water-based gloss polyurethane for super low VOC’s. New hardwood floors were installed to replace the original carpeting. These floor planks are free of formaldehyde. It has a professionally rebuilt 350 engine and has a bulletproof automatic Turbo 400 transmission. The original 327 was had cracked heads and small valves. This motor has 194 stellite valves can hardened valve seats for todays fuel demands. This combination is bulletproof (It’s also very rare to find one of these vans that is not a stick shift and a 6 cylinder engine). The paint style is that cool semigloss (like the new semi-shiny paint on Porsche) and really stands out. It’s really is a major head turner. People take pictures of it everywhere it goes. Even videos while driving on the freeway! Last week at the beach, all the campers wanted to see inside. It is super unique and solid as a rock. It is a very nice motorhome. It is not perfect. It has been used and has been very well taken care of. It is a good restoration with the motorhome"s originality kept paramount. There is a balance of just enough new technology to make it super fun and useable and still look like a classic. This step van is cooler than the VW Westfalia and is much more useable. It is also far more reliable. The engine was upgraded with HEI electronic ignition for superior reliability and low-cost maintenance. Water pump, oil pump, distributer, thermostat, alternator, starter were also replaced. The radiator was replaces a few years back and is still in excellent condition. All new washer wiper kit. Yes, you can clean the windshield while you drive on a 1969 LOL! New fuel tank sending unit, new KYB gas adjust shocks, ambulance grade LED exterior lighting, new ceiling vents, new water fill assembly and more. It has new Michelin LT tires on 16 inch rims. The 16.5"s were replaced. It has new brakes including shoes, wheels cylinders and flexible brake lines. The 350 engine accelerates fast like a car does and the new brakes stop it on a dime. It has a brand new flameless heater, it has a new fantastic fan, much of the wiring is new including interior and exterior LED’s. It has USB chargers front and rear. The roof rack is not only functional but ask like a shade structure. It is as cool as it would be if it was parked in the shade. The roof rack is a miracle. And there’s just too many new items installed for my old brain to remember. If you’re wanting a fun tailgater vehicle or tiny home, this is a bulletproof platform to start your adventure. The original Dometic Fridge works great and they are super reliable too. The couch converts into a bunk bed (so cool!) The rear seats convert into dining and another bed. The bathroom has a toilet and sink. There are seatbelts for 7 people! ! $1000 deposit required within 48 hours. Come and inspect it so there are no questions after bidding. You win, it’s yours. No games please. I have pictures from before it was restored too. I have great feedback
