Vehicle description

Thanks for checking out our family"s camping experience, and hope that it could be the same great joy for you as it has been for us. After owning this for the past 7 years, our kids are getting older and involved with more sports that has had us overcommitted on weekends, and found that we rarely have been able to get out in the Airstream for the last couple years. Nothing like taking our family on our first trip in this to a local park and them claiming, “This is the best vacation ever, even better than Disney World!” Yeah, that actually happened. Many great memories have been had with this Airstream and part of me is very sad to realize that our kids are growing up and moving on. The interior has been updated with a folding futon to also serve as queen sleeper, a permanent bed, and the lime green table sitting area that converts to a third bed. The Airstream was also originally fitted for two bunk beds, so the fittings are there should you have interest in retrofitting some. Original door hinge and locking system with key work, which is super rare. Chalkboard paint on the entrance doorway give the artistic opportunity to entertain during what we’d refer to as peaceful rains, which is a glorious thing to hear laying down inside this camper. About 120 hours were invested in the complete stripping and polishing of the airstream to a mirror shine. Still looks great, yet could use a relative quick once over to get it back to the super mirror shine. Owner’s manual included! The hitch system that comes with this is a super heavy duty weight distribution load leveling hitch and Reese friction anti sway bar. When towing this with our suburban, the handling and feel was almost as if we weren’t trailing anything with this setup which is a great feature. Tires have only about 1000 miles on them and are in great shape. While this beautiful Airstream is a great camping experience, there are things that one also needs to know. The electrical stuff is great, including Outlets, TV, Fridge, DVD, Lights, Super Cold A/C, electrical hitch jack, etc… Plumbing has almost all been completely replaced with PEX and replaced the water heater, however, there are some drips when under pressure. Same goes for the black tank. Don’t know about the gray tank, never used it. It was very rare that we used the water system in this and didn’t shower, although the sink and shower work, rather used available bath houses. While the gas stove has been replaced, our family never cooked with it, nor did the heat get used. We just used an electric space heater which heated the Airstream fine. Being said, we also have, not pictured, two 100lb propane tanks that are available to go with this, if interested. This camper is nearly 50 years old. It’s not a complete restoration. There are going to be things that could use attention that one couldn’t predict, so expect some of that. If it were, this would be selling for upwards of 80K+ if completely restored. This Airstream Overlander Land Yacht was titled when registering by the state of Alabama as a 1969, but Airstream purists will note that the VIN and front window design show this to be a 1970 Airstream. Note that the bill of sale will read this as a 1969. Please feel welcome to contact me with any questions prior to purchase.
