At home in Key Largo, converted in Nevada. 1969 Mercedes 302 Conversion Condition Narrative July 2017 The last time the coach was driven on a trip was six years ago. That trip was from Lake Tahoe in Nevada, across Canada to Newfoundland and down the East coast to Key Largo, Florida. The total distance of that trip was approximately 7000 miles. There were three events on that trip; a flat tire, a broken air intake hose and a leak in the diesel return line; all in Canada. In the past six years the coach has been used as a vacation home in Key Largo and not driven. The engine has been started and the air system brought up every month. The horn, wipers, turn signals and brakes exercised. The following systems have been utilized and are in operational condition. 1. The two ACs. 2. The two TVs (not digital) 3. The galley services (propane tank is empty) 4. The head and shower and black and grey tanks 5. All lighting of 110 and 12 volts. 6. All five batteries charged, inverter very good, and shore power active. 7. Propane charger and engine charger are fine. 8. The engine mechanical cooling fan has been replaced with electrical. The following items need attention: 1. The tires have good tread but are nearing twenty years old. 2. The stop solenoid on the engine needs replacing with a new one on hand. 3. The window seals need replacing or resealed with new available material. (they do not leak because there is reflective tape across the top seal) 4. There is a gremlin in the shifter control. The tranny and the shifter are excellent but the controller has a glitch that requires electrical attention that is probably a grounding issue. 5. The interior carpeting has never been replaced and the cabinetry never refinished. 20 years old. Key Largo is a boating community and technicians are not available to work on a conversion of this type. We recommend the unit be transported to an area where good rolling stock help is available. Unless, of course, the purchaser is a tech.
