I have my 1968 M36A2 (8ft longer than a standard deuce and a half with a drop side bed) for sale. I just finished installing a new water pump and hoses today and found the head gasket leaking. At this point I"m frustrated and looking to sell it. That may change later in the week to I reserve the right to end this auction at any time.
It has the original LDT 465 engine in it - never overhauled. It has air lock in front axle, deep water fording air kit. It had a heater kit but I have the heater box unbolted. This was unbolted because injust installed a brand new hydraulic head in the injecition pump after completely cleaning the tank and fuel system. The injectors are also new which I personally cleaned and pop tosted before installing. It has a brand new master cylinder. I installed a new water pump, belts, hoses and filters. I also have a spare new oil pan with gaskets spare new wheel cylinders for every wheel (6), it has fresh dot 5 silicone fluid. Two of the rear tires are flat but I had it towed 70 miles like that without issue.
The head gasket leak is significant and it cant be driven. I ran a coolant flush through the cooling system before replacing the water pump and it was fine for 20 minutes after starting but the gasket failed right between the two cylinder heads. It doesnt seem to be leaking into the oil, isnt leaking into the cylinder its an external coolant leak to atmospher e.
I have a clear title that matches data plate and driver side frame digits. It has a full brand new tarp and bows for the bed. I had them laying in the back as I had it towed and didnt wanted them damaged. It has a spare new door, spare front bumper too.
