Vehicle description

I caught the Vintage Camper Bug this past summer and before I knew it I had four of them to restore and I don’t need that many nor do I have the time for that many additional restoration projects. I’ve decided to sell this one. I’m not an expert or an authority on vintage campers but after months of research and study I have not seen another Bighorn model camper of this era advertised anywhere for sale or have I found one in any publication or magazine on the subject of vintage campers. If it is rare then so be it, if not who knows because it is still a nifty little camper in need of restoration. Pros: Clear title in my name therefore transfer of ownership will be a snap. Body of the camper is only 9”4” long with a 40” tongue. Total length is about 13 feet. Two new tires. Frame, springs, and axle are in great condition with just surface rust. Newly packed bearings. Turn signals, tail lights, and brake lights work. Marker lights do not. (4 prong flat) Skin is in very good condition. A couple of holes that were taped over at the rear and some light damage on the front right corner. Overall, exterior is in very good condition for a 50 year old trailer however it is 50 years old and appears to have spent most of its life outside. Has a nice strip of quilted metal down each side that looks cool. Lightweight camper. I’m guessing less than 1000 lbs. I’m going to weigh it next week. Pulls great with just about anything. 2” ball required. Good jack. Interior has three original two-way 12Vv/ 110v lights and one original gas lentil light fixture. Original sink, ice box, and gas heater. (I have not hooked up heater but previous owner said it worked fine as recently as two years ago). I do not guarantee that heater works. All windows crank fine and glass is good except for front window (missing a window pane) and a crack in rear window. Screens need replaced or fixed. Rood vent is fine. Cons: Camper has received water damage over the years that have created a lot of wood rot in front and rear framing structures especially around windows and most of the interior paneling. Roof coating was applied but has cracked. Original seat cushions are there but need re-upholstered. Fold down table is there for a pattern but will need rebuilt. Soft spot in the floor at the door. Door needs to be rebuilt. Original Bargman door knob appears to be fine but the door frame at the button is broken and door should be rebuilt and door frame fixed a little. No bathroom but it had a port-a-potty in the small closet. I’ve tried to provide an honest appraisal of the camper. This would make a nice restoration project as it is complete with the entire original interior to use or have for patterns. Sleeps three with fold down top bunk. This would also be the perfect size camper for that back yard scrapbook, glamper, boutique, etc. purpose. I would recommend you approach this with the idea of a complete restoration although most of the original components will be available for re-use. NO RESERVE auction. Bid with confidence. PayPal only. Non-refundable deposit of $500 due at time of purchase. Balance due through PayPal before pick up.No Scams. I can store the camper inside for up to 4 months if necessary. Delivery is not available but I will help you hook this up to your auto or help load it on your trailer. Honestly, this little camper could be pulled home with confidence anywhere in the U.S. Thanks for looking and I would be glad to answer additional questions.
