Vehicle description
Selling my vintage 1968 Airstream Sovereign. Partially remodeled/restored over the last few years.
The Good: New awning New front window shield/awning
New water supply lines
Recently replaced original AC with a Dometic low profile AC
Recently replaced the original refrigerator with a Dometic refrigerator
New Water Heater
New upholstery on Couch and mattresses
Vinyl flooring installed
Axle bearings and brakes redone
Still has original paint and still shines
Propane tanks outfitted with modern valves
I will also include the tools I purchased that are specifically for airstream restorations. This is includes the rivet drills and shavers.
The camper was in really good shape to start with so great care was made to keep it original while upgrading a few things.
The Bad: There are a few things that still need some attention but for the most part it is ready to go. There is a short somewhere on the DC side of the camper. I believe it is either a bad fuse or fuse box. One of the camper tires blew out on a recent trip and the trim around that wheel well will now need to be replaced. Front door frame has the very common problem of not latching. The airstream world suggest a short piece of wood through the handle to keep it closed during travel which is what we have done and it works. The real solution would be to expose the frame on the inside of the door and have that welded, then reinstall the skin. Oven is not working. Looks like a simple fix. Furnace has not been used in a while. I suggest inspecting/testing before use.
Transportation is the responsibility of the buyer. Camper trailer is being offered as-is where-is. Please ask questions.
