1968 28 foot Airstream Custom Built Restored Trailer.
This trailer was fully custom built by us at Kingston United Trailer, a custom Airstream Restoration Shop in Kingston, NY that has since closed. We built this trailer to rent out for weddings, events, and more, and it serviced several weddings over the past year to great success. We are now selling the trailer and we hope the next owners are able to achieve the success we had with it!
Here is a summary of the build, which was a frame-up built with no original parts used without a full restoration (mostly the windows and unique exterior components):
Frame re-built with new 1/4" steel tubing everywhere, coated in POR-15. Spray-foam underbelly and new all-aluminum bellypan. Fully patched and waterproofed shell, insulated and re-skinned with restored, orginial aluminum panels. All-new electrical system for 12v operation off-grid, as well as 110v power when plugged in to generator or shore power. Three sinks (two ice sinks, one small handwashing sink) draining to external, included 40-gallon rolling tank. All new plumbing system including 40-gallon freshwater tank and 12v pump. Custom built front bench seat, upholstered in durable, Sunbrella vinyl for easy cleaning. Custom built interior bar with Hand-punched rivets on aluminum face, to reflect riveted exterior Custom-built exterior-facing bar in aluminum, with storage shelving underneath. Two sliding-door refrigerators, butcher block countertops. Exterior, 12-foot hatch custom-fabricated out of aluminum and stainless steel. All-new axles, wheels, and tires. All-new 7-way lighting system for trailering, braking, turn signals, and running lights. Restored, orginal windows throughout A/C unit on roof for winter/cold weather events. two roof fan units
This trailer cost us nearly $90,000 to build. We have used it for one year, so it is not in new condition, but you are certainly getting a deal here!
