Vehicle description
Vehicle History: You are looking at a unique M35A2 that went through a late rebuild at the Saginaw, TX CSMS-01 facility in 1995 where it underwent many nice upgrades similar to the M35A3 (later generation) trucks. During this rebuild the engine, transmission, and transfer case were replaced as well as the rest of the powertrain. Air assist steering was installed during this time and makes driving much easier.
Upgrades: A M35A3 aluminum fuel tank was installed eliminating rust issues and was recently drained/cleaned. A parking brake dash light was installed too which was limited to late production Air force deuces only. A windshield wiper fluids kit was installed buring the rebuild as well but is missing some parts. The hardtop and winch were installed from production most likely but have been rebuilt or refurbished over the years.
The vehicle was purchased and pick up from the Saginaw Army Depot yard in the late 2000"s and has extensively been gone though to make how they should have from the factory.
Brakes: All wheel cylinders have been replaced with new ones, all soft (rubber) brake lines have been replaced with steel braided lines, and the airpack has been completely rebuilt with a new air canister and seals. All hubs were inspected, serviced, and reassembled. These repairs were performed by a professional military mechanic and have been documented on the "Tactical Repair Channel" on youtube.
Engine: The truck has the latest LDT-465-1D multifuel engine that is still being broken in (seating the rings, etc). All injectors were pulled, tested, calibrated, and reinstalled. It has plenty of power and runs strong. "Spin-on" oil filters have been installed as well - A MUST HAVE!
Electrical : The front harness and gauges were all recently replaced . When the government had the "tritium scare" (the green glow in the dark material that"s in your wrist watch) they cut them out. All lights work and LED headlights were installed too.
Tires: Goodyear G177 11x20 tires with 100% tread were installed with new tubes. They ride better, handle better, look better, and the best tires you can get in that size. A new spare is on the truck mounted on the driver side.
Body: The truck was washed, rustproofed, and repainted last month with mil-spec colors. The troop seats are fair and painted green. The cargo cover is good but slightly faded. The interior of the cab is original with some surface rust on a windshield frame but everything works.
I have a clean Texas title for this truck, and can provide a temp tag as well. Message if you have questions.
