General Description: Auction is for a 1966 Airstream Carvel that is mostly original except for minor changes, deletions and additions by previous owners. As it sits, it is a usable camper with the exception for the black water tank. The tank needs to be replaced due to a crack on the bottom of the tank. This trailer is a prime project for repairing small needed details or a complete restoration, which was my plan. But time and space never aligned, so now the opportunity is yours. The trailer is 17’3” long, 84” wide, 99’ tall and weighs approximately 2,350 lbs. The Airstreams from this period (1966 to 1968) had curved side window glass, and it’s a very unique feature. It sleeps 2 adults and 2 small children on pull out beds. Once the black water tank is replaced, this Airstream is a fully contained camper with 2-way refrigerator, propane heating, propane oven and cook-top, sink, and a combination bathroom shower, sink, and toilet. I mostly used the camper parked at the winery while I worked harvest. It has always been stored at a paved, dry RV storage very close to my home. I really hate to part with it, but the time has come. Sometimes you only get to own something this cool once in your life, hence the hesitation in parting with it. The Good New Olympian 3100 Catalytic heater installed around 2008 New Atwood water heater installed around 2008 New curved replacement side window glass installed around 2007 New Dexter Torflex electric axle installed around 2004 (NOTE: electric brakes are note connected. Previous owner disconnected them and due to light weight, I have not felt the need to reconnect) All faucets work, and the bath/shower faucet was just replaced with new. Electric water pump is newer and works as it should. New deep cycle battery just installed. All interior lights work. Three are original with two new additional lights added. All exterior lights work with new clearance lights just installed. New 7 pin trailer plug just installed. Tires are older (2004), but they are in good shape with no obvious cracking. Roof vent works properly with new vent lid installed in August 2020. New Zip Dee awning installed around 2008. (I don’t know if this awning is installed correctly. It works properly, however, the mounting placement doesn’t seem to be right). Couches convert to beds as they should with newer cushions and upholstery. Lower interior storage has the original plastic trays. Two are good. One has cracked corner but useable. These are hard to find. Outside body skin is generally good, however, there are some exceptions which are listed below. The Bad Black water tank is cracked and needs replacing. Available from Vintage Trailer Supply and Inland RV Outside refrigerator and stove vents were removed by previous owner during awning install. Reproduction available from vendors list above. A few small dings and dents on lower exterior panels as shown in pictures. Rear lower corner panels have patches covering holes from a previous owner’s custom taillight install. Taillights have been returned to original. Interior cabinetry is dry from age and could use some attention. Curtain’s outside liners have sun damage. Windows need foam seals Folding step is present but will need repair for use. Summary The camper is not perfect but in good overall condition needing some TLC or go all in and restore it to like new. These small early trailers are very sought after and make a great investment. $2,000 deposit required within 24 hours of end of Auction. Balance due 7 days from end of auction. Let me know what you are thinking and see if I can work with you. Please ask questions and let me know if need to see more pictures. Camper can be seen by appointment. Thanks for viewing my Auction.
