Vehicle description
1965 GM PD-4106 Automatic transmission, Classic Coach Conversion for sale.
This coach sleeps 2 comfortably but room for 4 if you add a bed in the parlor (we used to have a futon up front but we took it out because it was like sleeping on a bed of rocks). There is a bedroom in the rear, a dinette, RV refrigerator and microwave. There are two captain’s chairs behind the driver"s seat with seat belts. The shower is larger than a standard RV shower. Has propane, water storage, gray water storage, two big deep bays for storage, and two roof air conditioners.
It runs (we just drove it 50 miles on a country back road with lots of turns) but it does need work as it sat for several years after my husband died and needs a revival. My mechanic has done the following: new fuel lines, fuel filters, rebuilt fuel pump, rebuilt starter, injectors cleaned and the rack set, new 8D battery, etc. Interior paneling needs to be replaced on one side. Kitchen cabinets need some work. It has a new 8 D battery but will need 12 V batteries for the interior household power.
This bus conversion could also be a "tiny home" to park on your land for for visitors or a caretaker.
It"s a great rig. In the 1960s and 70s, the PD-4106 (Parlor Diesel) was the workhorse of many fleets. The PD-4106 was first to use the new Detroit Diesel 8V-71 engine which developed 253 horsepower. It was also the first bus with a combined heating and cooling system with the compressor driven by the engine. With the big 8V71 Detroit Diesel and 35 foot length, they were the "sports cars" of coaches; these are faster and more powerful rigs that climbed hills with ease, and were fairly simple to maintain.
Payment in full is due within 7 days of close of auction.
