1964 Airstream Safari
This 1964 Airstream Safari embodies Wally Byam, the creator of Airstream"s motto "Let"s not make changes, let"s only make improvements".
The entire trailer has been gone through professionally from top to bottom, front to back. Not one aspect of this trailer has been overlooked.
DOCUMENTATION/SPECIFICATIONS 1964 was said to have the most dramatic engineering improvements than any other single year-improvements you wouldn"t see on other travel trailers for years to come.
This Airstream has excellent provenance. It was a single owner, meticulously maintained, and stored under cover. The Airstream contains all it"s manuals, documentation, and more. It"s extremely detailed and a true rarity.
The Airstream comes in at 22 feet, 3100 lbs and has a tongue weight of 380 lbs with full propane tanks. Sleeps 4 comfortably.
EXTERIOR
The Airstream body is flawless. All perimeter underbelly wraps and the entire belly pan is brand new satin clear coated aluminum to prevent oxidation.
The entire frame has been POR-15 painted and is in immaculate shape. It had 90 percent original paint still on the frame prior to restoration.
The torsion axle/brakes and shocks are brand new. Powder coated color matching rims and undermount A-frame spare, all with new tires. NOS polished hubcaps with atomic star centers.
Brand new color coordinated Zip Dee awning with Zip Dee chairs. New Sunbrella tire skirts.
The entry door was fully rebuilt utilizing a pre polished aircraft grade aluminum with a UV resistant. The door also features a period correct chrome door handle and a chrome deadbolt which insure this perfect door will never open en route.
New heavy duty safety chains with adjustability.
All exterior lights are NOS or identical updated replicas which are now made from stainless materials and LED.
All windows are fully restored with new glazing, gaskets, and NOS window operators. New astrodome vent cover.
Seam sealed entire trailer.
INTERIOR
All new 8 inch thick extremely comfortable Aruba Sunbrella upholstery throughout. The cushions are perfectly sized to fit level and snug for a seamless feel when converted to a bed.
New durable one piece flooring in a period correct woven tile pattern. This style flooring is a perfect upgrade for its stability/durability in all climates. Satin aluminum trim throughout.
All wood cabinets and drawers are in flawless original condition and have been painstakingly refinished.
Countertops and table are new with a much more eye popping yet true to the vintage appeal light brown linen pattern.
All windows have new pre polished aluminum interior trim.
SYSTEMS
New air conditioner with optional heater. The cover is custom made of pre polished uv clear coated aluminum adding to the trailer"s stunning appearance.
On-demand water heater installed. Custom pre polished cover for seamless blended appearance.
Restored and recertified polished aluminum propane tanks. All propane components are new from the valves,
regulator, hoses, copper lines and fittings.
Modernized electrical with new all in one converter/charger, new AGM battery, new 7 pin trailer wiring.
Flawless original furnace.
Modern Pex plumbing throughout the trailer , new 12 volt pump and city water inlet.
The refrigerator is in incredible shape. It has been reskinned with a linear brushed and satin aluminum for greater appearance and durability. The fridge insert is in perfect condition.
The oven has been fully restored and is in immaculate condition.
