1961 piper Cherokee 160 airplane. Located in Noblesville, Indiana at airport identifier I80. I purchased this aircraft as a time builder and flew from the Portland, Oregon area to central Indiana. It has been a solid machine though not especially pretty to look at. Interior pictures and times from the logbook added shortly.
This is a low reserve auction. Highest bidder plan to ferry this home. And she was run in the last couple of weeks and pictures were taken at that time.
Plane comes equipped with Garmin 420 GPS comm, TKM MX300 nav com with CDI, Narco AT50a transponder, King KMA20 audio panel. Aircraft is wired for a Garmin 430w including Garmin GA35 waas antenna. Also has intact harness for a Garman GI-106A. These items can be added with no other wiring needed.
Engine produces approximately 2450 RPM static. Has used oil since I owned it (1 qt. per 1.5 to 2 hours) and one cylinder has started fouling plugs . I suspect that cylinder should be overhauled and may solve the leak. Apparently this level of oil usage is not out of bounds for these old engines. Mag drops are within limits with clean plugs. Side windows are cloudy but may polish with Meguires plastiX and get you by a bit longer. I will include a used Lorde Shimmy dampener and save the need to buy a new one for $500+ as it likes to do the “shopping cart” effect.
