1960 AMC MIGHTY MITE M422 SELLS AT SILVER CAR AUCTION IN SUN VALLEY SEPT 5TH
THIS IS NUMBER 151 OF ONLY 1045 EVER BUILT! The M422 Mighty Mite was built for U.S.M.C. to be airlifted into combat in the Vietnam war. A very rare jeep that has an aluminum 108 CI V4 air cooled engine along with a aluminum body. It has independent suspension, limited slip differentials, 4 wheel drive, shift on the fly technology, fording depth of 21” stock and 60" with fording kit and weighs in under 1700lbs. We took this LITTLE guy to Moab and it would go up anything you have balls enough to drive it. Of course we spent most of our time explaining to other jeepers what it was and I caught crap for pounding such an iconic piece of history over the Moab desert but it never broke or left me stranded. They stopped production on them because the Huey Helicopter was introduced and it could air lift full size jeeps into battel and the Mighty Mite was no longer needed. You most likely wont find another one of these for sale in this condition anytime soon so you better come to Sun Valley if you want to own one. If you cant be there contact Mitch at silver car auctions and you can do a phone bid. Call if you want to come look. twozeroeightsixeightzerosixeighteightsix
