Vehicle description

Selling this 1958 Seagrave Aerial Truck. First some history; I purchased this from the former fireman of the local Upstate NY Albion Fire Dept. The town had this truck fully restored in 1988, (he informed me that the town spent $80,000 on the project). The truck was inspected for use aferward, and failed the OSHA requirements due to some hairline fractures in the ladder. A request to Seagrave for a re-cast ladder was far, far too expensive, so the Town sold the truck. This gentleman bought it and utilized it for almost 30 years in various parades and such. He recently moved, and me and my friend purchased the truck from him. The truck utilizes air-assisted hydraulic brakes, no CDL required. The ladder is fully operational, sirens and lights work. The original Pierce motor was removed and replaced with a Detroit 6 Cylinder Diesel MT643( I believe V53 Silver Series) and an Allison automatic transmission. Engine is a Detroit Turbocharged V53 6 Cylinder- Model 5067-5340 6D-218710. All information on that engine serial/model code can be found on powerlinecomponents.com. We drove the truck from home over 40 miles with no problems. After being parked for a while, we noted that there is a leak by the master cylinder and the fluid needs to be replaced on occasion. Hour meter reads 580 hrs. Mileage gauge reads 0. Tire size 9.00-20, some dry rot but have held air and driven with no problems. The truck measures 38" from tip of ladder to front bumper. The seat needs repair. The loudspeaker isn"t hooked up. Sirens and lights work. We couldn"t get the headlights to work, still working on that. This truck was fully taken apart and remodeled professionally in 1988. As such, it is very clean, but there is some wear from the last 29 years. The truck has axes, 6 various wooden ladders (10, 12 25 feet, a few more even bigger), pikes, hoses and and various nozzles. Ladder works and functions, yes we climb it! We need to free up money for another project we are set on. We can work with you on storage until it is picked up. I am mandating a $500 PayPal NON-REFUNDABLE deposit to ensure follow through after auction. We can provide more specific photos on demand, easiest via text. You may call me, Caleb @ 585-322-6331 with any questions. Thanks for looking!
