Vehicle description
1956 Aljo Trailer
14 ft. Canned Ham Trailer, it has a mostly original interior but the ice box has been replaced with a Dometic fridge that runs either on electrical, battery (two marine batteries under the seat bench), or propane. Also, new marmoleum flooring, new ceiling vent, new bench upholstery, and new awning. Window gaskets have been replaced and sliding step installed at door. It has been sealed along the seams but there is old water damage that has been repaired and a panel by the bed replaced (photo). There is some dry rot over the door (photo). Original screen door, Bakelite handle on stove, atomic fifties curtains, original vintage door handle, and working tail lights. We preferred to keep as much authenticity and history as possible while keeping it comfortable, dry, and in working order.
We will miss going to the vintage trailer rallies and meeting all our fellow trailerites around the campfire, but are happy to pass down the opportunity to new owners!
