Vehicle description
1955 Shasta Travel Trailer
This is a clean older classic camper. I bought it from a friend who had owned it a long time. I had plans for it but I have three kids and we are too big for it and I bought a bigger one to restore. This thing is mostly original and really solid for a camper to use or restore. The floor and floor joists are in nice shape. The camper doesn"t leak but did at one point. Some of the panelling in the rear bed area needs repaired. You can see it in the pics. I"ll get underneath pics also but the floor is visible from underneath. I"ve checked it well for soft spots. The interior is mostly original but the stove is gone. I don"t think they"re hard to find and I"ll help with that. The cabinets and interior wood have been painted. The cabinets are original though. The icebox is in good shape. The tires hold air, and I towed it with them, but they are weather cracked. The wheels look original and are painted to match. I"m sure they are original because the have the tabs that hold the old style hubcaps on. The hubcaps on it are some dodge ones I had. The trailer needs the wiring re-done. I have a temporary light and harness kit that can go with it if you want to pick it up. It is cheaper I think, and easier to ship one though I believe. The paint is original. There is one picture in the pics that is of a restored camper like this. The turqoise/white looks nice. Feel free to ask questions. I can do something early on it if you"d like. I"m not a shasta expert or camper expert really. I am a mechanic and carpenter, and I"ve looked the camper over well. I was under it with it jacked up, so I could use a creeper and look the framing over well. It is really dry compared to many I"ve looked at. Sold as-is. Thank you.
