Vehicle description
1955 Gillig School Bus VIN # 9876
International Red Diamond 501 Gas Engine 5 Speed manual non-synchro transmission Mileage 184,898 Strong running art deco styled vintage Gillig School bus. I"m certain this is the oldest surviving Gillig school bus in the nation anywhere close to this condition. I hope someone can prove me wrong. Brand new tires all around. Brand new 8D battery Recent rebuild of carburetor, distributor and mechanical fuel pump. Runs and drives beautifully. Originally bought new and owned as Tahoe Truckee Schools unit #22 Was hanging on to it to use in local parades and a show bus at State sponsored school bus events/conferences. However with Covid, these events in the past year have been canceled and as well as the foreseeable future. Electric choke solenoid is in-op and obsolete, so when cold, must be started from rear using manual choke pull. No biggie. All fluids and filters are fresh. Copy and paste these two YouTube videos I have posted on this bus; a walk around as well as a drive video: https:/ www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NtycGUu3j4&t=10s&ab_channel=tpembert https:/ www.youtube.com/watch?v=0y0VB5c239U&t=4s&ab_channel=tpembert District name will be carefully removed from side of bus. Title has never been sent out from DMV. Been in "processing" status since March 13th. Unless title shows up, will be sold with a CA DMV "Duplicate Title and Transfer of Ownership" form, temporary registration card issued at the time, and a bill of sale. 7 day no reserve auction $500 deposit req"d within 24 hours of auction closing If you have a low feedback score , you must contact me for your bid to be considered.
