Up for your consideration is our 1955 General mobile home. We have remodeled/restored it and hope you will love it as much as we do! We tried to update her but still keep as much of the original components and vintage charm as possible. It is a 29" Four Star General with a living area up front, kitchen and dining in the middle then bath and bed in the back. There is storage everywhere in this beauty.
The interior has all new flooring, pex plumbing, faucets, bathroom sink, wall outlets (we added some extra outlets through out), light fixtures, window screens, built in queen size bed, built in sofa, curtains, cushions, etc. .
Living area has a built in sofa that would be big enough to sleep two small kids or one adult depending.
Kitchen/dining area has pretty much all the original components. We kept the original counters and sink and just added some paint, a new faucet and the fabulous light fixtures. The fridge is electric and painted to match our color scheme. Hot water heater is under the kitchen sink and is newer and also electric. The stove is gas and works perfectly down to the lights and built in clock it has. Then the vintage table and chairs, which were in the camper when we got her.
The hallway boasts a sliding double door closest and some hooks for jackets, hats, etc.
The bathroom has a new toilet, light fixture, sink and faucets. The tub/shower is original and just got a face lift using Homax tub and tile paint. We have used this product many times over the years with lasting results.
Bedroom area had twin beds originally but we built a queen size bed frame. It has a tv mount on the wall at the foot of the bed and custom scallop touches to match the scallop valances in the living room. There is another sliding door in the bedroom that houses a full size closet.
The exterior got all new paint, new tires, bearings greased, and a new awning. The exterior paint is an oil base rustoleum from Sherwin Williams. We ran new wire to the running lights but they DO NOT WORK. The mobile mechanic that we use for those was 4 months out due to covid. All of the windows are in tact and work as they should. The front "picture windows" in the living room, the large windows on either side, are plexi glass. I have no idea if they are original but they look good. The roof is in good shape and has a coat of elastomeric under the oil base rustoleum. We spent two weeks scraping off tar that previous owners had applied to the roof over the years.
There is no heat and no A/C. The original heater was so far gone it was a rusty fire hazard. There is room for an electric fireplace in the living room. There wasn"t A/C originally but a portable A/C or a window unit could be used.
This camper does not leak, every inch of the exterior has been caulked and checked twice! It had leaked previously and we had to replace some wall panels on the inside. There are some dents to the exterior body, the only ones I see are if your looking at the front of the trailer, please see the photos. The plumbing is drained through the floor and is stubbed out underneath.
This trailer is sold "as is" and "where is". It does have a clear title, which we sent off for but it hasn"t came back in our name yet. I do have a copy of the SC title so I can show you that if it hasn"t came beforehand. We encourage interested buyers to come and see her in person if possible. We live in NC near the Asheville Airport for reference.
