Vehicle description

1953 Franklin Camper Travel Trailer. Purchased this camper in March 2021. Made a number of improvements as listed below. Stored in covered secure storage since I’ve owned it. Camped in it several times since purchasing it. A lot of fun and a real head turner. Too much other life going on to continue to enjoy and would prefer it to be enjoyed by somebody. Purchased an Anderson “no-sway” weight distribution hitch to tow which is probably a little overkill for this camper but makes it tow like a dream. Previous owner showed the propane lights and utilities working however we removed the stove and furnace due to their condition and propane lines would have to be reworked (although they are easily assessable). Also has both original and updated electricity which I never plugged in due to finding a couple of wires cut and wasn’t planning to use electric hookup anyway. Previous owner showed lights and power working. Also, bathroom and shower were removed but I believe you could hook up the sink to water outlet if you desired. Currently drains out below camper. We purchased to use as a fancy tent as we camp away from utility hookups. Makes great use for glamping! I’m sure could be continued to be fixedup for utilities and would also make a great small living space parked on land.
Since we’ve purchased we made roadworthy with brand new tires and the addition of new safety chains. Wheels, axle and springs inspected and serviced. The original brake lights do not work so a brake light system with standard plug was added. We removed everything from inside the camper and replaced some wood and determined no other foundation was a concern. Some water damage in the bathroom picture does not appear to be a concern other than visually. Extended bed frame and purchased brand new Serta 8” Memory Foam Luxury full size mattress (very comfortable!) and all new bedding. Reupholstered kitchen table cushions which fold down into a second working bed (sleeps 2 until your kids are 6’ tall then likely 1). Added new cushions to bench seating area. Added some fun decorations (There was a non-original closet above where the bench is currently so the wood behind the tapestry and ceiling under the tiles is a little rougher and discolored but still in solid shape). Previous floor was original and was solid but needed a touch up so put down new Vinyl floor tiles. Made new curtains for the windows and bathroom (or what we used as a changing room). Added wood to where the stove was to make storage area and added cutting board for great food prepared Purchased stabilizer jacks which I never welded to frame but can be done so easily as well as wheel chocks and stackable block for leveling. Left out in front of my house through a couple of significant rain showers and did not leak. All windows work with original hand cranks. Anderson “no-sway” weight distribution hitch included with either 4” or 8” drop with 2” shank.
Camper is 16’ x 8’ and 9’ tall. Weighed in at CAT scale at 3000 lbs. Everything included in pictures except most of the throw pillows, the W hanging on the wall and the picture with all of the names of the state parks in Indiana (unless any of those are a deal breaker). Clear Indiana title. Currently stored in Danville Indiana. *added comment: I do have the oven/stove I took out of it and will include it with the purchase if interested.
