Vehicle description
Up for auction is this classic 1948 Airstream Liner, arguably the most iconic trailer ever produced, and representative of the first generation of Wally Byam"s post war trailers. I purchased this trailer several years ago with the understanding that it was a 1948 model. There is however no serial number visible adjacent to the door where one would expect to find it on a small plate. Possibly this was removed and replaced with the doorbell? This trailer will NEED A COMPLETE NEW FRAME. The shell is in need of lower side panels and belly pan. Window frames are mostly intact. The "door within a door" is present and functional. The hinges will require minor repair. The end caps are in absolutely EXCELLENT DENT FREE condition BOTH INSIDE AND OUT! This is remarkable for a trailer of this age, and given the complexity of rebuilding them, will greatly simplify the restoration. The roof is in excellent condition, and the original vent covers are in place. The interior ceiling is intact and in generally good condition. Interior hanging cabinets are in place, as is the original rear standing cabinet. No other interior parts are present other than what is shown in pictures. This trailer CANNOT be towed as is! A flatbed will be required for transport. I am happy to assist with loading, and have equipment available as needed. Sold "as is, where is". Absolutely no warranty is expressed or implied. This trailer is for sale locally, and this auction may be ended early. A NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT VIA PAYPAL OF $200.00 IS REQUIRED OF THE WINNING BIDDER AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE AUCTION. FULL PAYMENT IN CASH ONLY WILL BE DUE BEFORE PICK UP, AND WITHIN 14 DAYS OF CONCLUSION OF THIS AUCTION.
