Vehicle description

32 Ford 2 Door Sedan Drag Car
Car has been a drag car since 1965, originally built by Steve Olson, Burlington, IA. When I purchased the car and brought it to CA, it did not pass tech, and had a 460ci Ford engine, with mismatched pistons and several sleeves. Car was running 9.0 class in the midwest, but had not run in some time. At the advisement of the NHRA tech, I decided to build a new chassis and engine.
Chassis is Mark Williams design, all TIG welded 4130, passed tech in 2008 for SFI 10.3 . No changes in SFI specification since built. Was certified for 7.50., MW front axle and torsion bar. New Steering box.
Full Steel body, doors, hood, grille. Body and doors vintage, hood and grille by Rootlieb. Aluminum top insert. Body has been a drag car since 1965, and on an altered chassis since 1973. I filled back in the wheel wells to fit new tubs, they were not cut right when I purchased car. Original car hit the wall at Indy, top was cut to extract driver, re-welded as seen. There is filler in several places, I was told car had been repainted a few times since the first build.
Fresh unfired 557ci Ford engine Scat steel crank, 4.50 stroke, H beam rods, all machining by Bell and Gaines, Modesto, CA Blue Thunder "B" heads, new seats and valves, BBC exhaust pattern Custom Comp Cam roller, 310/321 .761/.766, matching springs, etc. Crower roller rockers and girdle Victor intake manifold Ron"s Terminator alcohol fuel system with gasoline start and idle Super Damper MSD ignition, 7AL3 box Canton full length pan All fasteners ARP or equivalent GZ Motorsports vac pump kit Shogun water pump All Autometer gauges Custom headers with ceramic coating
Mark Williams Rear end with MW Aluminum center section and gears by Danny Miller, Strange disk brakes, MW 35 spline axles, MW 40 spline driveline
JW Powerglide and Converter Pro Tree trans brake Ultrabell 8" converter Precision Performance shifter with CO2 kit Trans cooler
Front wheels are original American 12 spokes, rears are American Torque Thrust that I had widened by Eric Vaughn.
I was building this car to run the 8.60 NE2 class and was almost done when I found out that the local track that was proposed was not going to open at all. Interests change and the car now needs a new owner to finish up the interior tin and get on the track. Engine is in assembly lube and has not been started. Lots of extra parts, wheelie bar kit, etc.
Please contact me to view car before bidding ends at (209) 761-5160. I can answer any questions or supply additional photos.
Car is also for sale locally, and I am willing to sell as part, but would rather see someone get it on the track in its current form.
Sold as-is, where is, arrange your own shipping or pick up locally. Stored inside.
