INTERNATIONAL AND OVERSEAS BUYERS WELCOME!
This is a true one of a kind, modified and highly upgraded Vintage RV that can be driven cross country today. If you want all of the pleasures of the Vintage RV experience without all of the headaches, you will not find another one like this Hot Rod Winnie. Please read the whole ad and realize what this is before calling. You would spend twice this much if you had a shop build this for you and that"s assuming you could even find somebody to do it right.
It is a smog exempt 1972 Winnebago Brave 18 foot Class A motorhome that has been tastefully upgraded to have the best of both worlds. It is a 2010 Chevrolet Fuel Injected 6.0 LS engine from a Chevrolet Express Van connected to a 6L90E 6 speed automatic overdrive transmission, also from the same van. It has Hydro Boost hydraulic power disc brakes and power steering. It also now has fully Independent Front Suspension from the same van so the ride is incredible compared to a stock one. New aluminum driveshaft, Dana 70 rearend. The Winnebago now uses all of the new style factory wiring, fuse panels, gauges, heating/air conditioning (ICE COLD), and steering column. The wheels and tires are new and have been upgraded to 16 inch radial tires from the original 16.5 bias plies that were mounted on split rims.
The difference in performance between this and an original 318 Dodge is ridiculous. When everyone else is in the far right lane with their flashers on, you can cruise right by them at 75 MPH! It has far more power than you will ever need and yet still remains very docile, street friendly, and stops on a dime (OK, maybe a quarter. It"s still a motorhome) No overheating problems like the old days. It it smooth, quiet, and far faster that any Winnebago has the right to be.
The Winnebago was completely torn down to replace the cheap original plywood/insulation combo that it came with originally. The framework was re-done with real wood and real insulation to a much higher quality. The floors were all re-done with higher quality wood underneath the new flooring. The roof was completely replaced with a crown and re-done with additional support. It is all far better than it ever was from the factory. While the roof was being done, a full size residential stand-up shower was installed from above as it would never fit in through the door.
The interior is all new. In addition to the shower, it received all new soft close cabinets, new carpet up front, new dash upholstery, new flooring, new couch upholstery, new curtains, new LED lighting all around, new paint, new sink, new toilet, new water pump, new instantaneous water heater with electronic control, and new Coleman roof top AC unit. Max pressure city water connection, dual LP tanks, refrigerator, microwave. The two Captain"s chairs in front still have the original green vinyl. The passenger side is in excellent condition but the driver"s side does have some rips in the upholstery. They have not been replaced yet only because I am pretty stubborn about finding the correct replacement color and pattern vinyl. It"s not terrible anyhow so there was no hurry. The Winnie also uses the new in-dash TouchScreen stereo/GPS/back up camera from the van. Bluetooth equipped. The stereo sounds great and that back up camera is definitely nice to have. Being only 18 feet long, this Minnie Winnie can be pulled into the beach and parked in a normal parking space. Automatic headlights. I just had brand new windshields professionally installed on both sides last week.
The exterior has not been restored and still has original paint. This was purposely done for the achieved classic "sleeper" look of the RV. The aluminum siding has many little dings from a hail storm in the 1970s. You could restore the siding, re-paint, and take the Winnebago to an even higher level but I like the look it has now. This ad is already too long and I don"t think I even came close to covering everything. It"s a rare shorty Winnebago, it has AC that will freeze you out, and if you have any problems on the road a local Chevy dealer can plug it into a scanner and fix it. Like I told you in the beginning, YOU WON"T FIND ANOTHER ONE LIKE THIS! Clean, clear title in hand. Feel free to give me a call and I will tell you whatever you would like to know. If you want one of the coolest rigs on the road, this is it.
I may also be listing my fuel injected 496 big block Chevy, 4L80E, 4x4 1945 Chevy Shorty Bus/RV soon. I need some room. I would consider doing some horsetrading on an interesting 20 foot Airstream Argosy motor home, Corvette, Camaro, Muscle Car, or a steel body Hot Rod. Please be realistic with your trades. Just because you don"t want your junk any more doesn"t mean that I do either. I am located in Carlsbad, CA in North County Coastal San Diego. Inspections in person are encouraged.
I can help with transportation either getting it loaded on a truck, meeting your driver, or assisting you however I can at the buyer"s expense. Inspections are encouraged but must be completed before the end of the auction. $1000 non refundable deposit due at auction end and remaining balance due within three working days. Payment must be in the form of cash in person or via certified bank wire transfer. I do my best to accurately describe the vehicle to the best of my abilities. Any descriptions or representations are for identification purposes only and are NOT to be construed as a warranty of any type. It is the responsibility of the BUYER to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle, and to have satisfied himself or herself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgement solely. The SELLER shall and will make every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects associated with this vehicle at the buyer"s request prior to the close of sale. The BUYER is responsible for any/all shipment costs involved in transportation of the vehicle. References for shippers are available upon request. This Winnebago is being sold "as is, where is".
