Vehicle description

Vehicle Details 1922 Packard first series 6 cylinder touring car converted in 1937 to a roadster pickup by welders at the Coulee Dam project. The car has the original engine, transmission and clutch but was converted to have hydraulic brakes with 1930's Ford front axle and a Packard rear axle, which is a vast improvement over the original mechanical brakes. Engine starts easily on a 6 volts. I originally tried to buy this car in 1955 when I was ten years old. The owner had an auto repair shop in Everett, WA and the car was in the back of his shop and almost completely concealed by junk. I finally bought the car from the shop owner's son in 1986. Since 1955 the car has always been stored in the dry thus there is not much rust. I have the roadster convertible top, which needs restoration. There is a hand crank as well as a crank hole cover. Car has a very old Washington collector plates which goes with the car. There are many needed TLC items. Once in a while the multi disc clutch sticks, but not lately. Note that the rear touring doors are there with hinges, latches and trim. I have a 1924 Packard parts sedan with a rear tub that could be used to restore the touring body. I considered this but decided that I liked the car as it was modified. I also have a few other spare parts. Clear title as well as old titles back to 1960.
