Please call Matt directly at 513-708-1468 with any questions about this car. Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this absolutely spectacular 1979 Mercedes 450SL in amazing condition with only 5,145 original miles. This car is the lowest mileage 450SL for sale anywhere in the world at this moment. This is one of the nicest Mercedes R107 SL"s available on the market and truly an investment grade classic. The market on the 450SL and the R107 body style SL is absolutely red hot right now. Very low mileage and original examples of the R107 Mercedes SL are exceptionally difficult to find and draw a huge premium in the current market. The low original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title showing the mileage as "Actual." This Mercedes is finished in the beautiful, unique, and highly desirable color combination of Colorado Beige (470) with a Topaz Brown (424) hardtop and Light Tan Leather interior (204) with a Dark Brown soft-top (746). This is the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the both vehicle data card and the metal data plate, which are both still with the car and pictured in this ad. It is exceptionally rare to see an SL from this ear in a two-tone color combination like this car with the dark brown hardtop and beige body. Both separate paint codes, 470 and 424, appear on the data card and data plate so this color combination should be correct from the factory when the car was ordered new. Please peruse all of the photos, video, and other information below to get a true sense of clean and exceptional this 450SL really is. This 450SL looks outstanding, runs great, and is and awesome driver. It comes with both the soft-top and auxiliary hardtop. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come as the market is on the rise. The car come with the original owner"s manual, maintenance booklet, engine/chassis catalog, owner"s service and warranty policy booklet, a letter from Mercedes to the original owner, emission system manual, maintenance booklet, oil sheet, punch card, Michelin tire booklet, consumer information booklet, key booklet, radio booklet, dealership directory, and cruise control card all in the original clear plastic pouch. The car also comes with three keys including the "flat key" that is still in its original plastic and has never been opened. One may worry that a car like this with such low mileage simply sat unused for many years and is in need of service. We recently spent over $5,000 on the car to have the fuel system cleaned and completely serviced so the car starts right away every time and there is no old fuel in the car or other issues like that. This Mercedes is verified as "numbers matching" meaning the engine and transmission in the car are the correct and original units that were installed in the factory when new. The "vehicle data card" shows the original engine number to be "117985 12 037447." We have checked the engine and confirmed that same engine number stamped on the left side of the engine block. The transmission is also original with the number "107044 12 052271" stamped on the main case and pictured in this ad. As a side note, this Mercedes is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the 450SL, just give us a call. Exterior The Colorado Beige (470) exterior is in spectacular condition. As one can see in the photos, the paint has a brilliant gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. Both doors open and shut nicely; it has that solid Mercedes touch and feels like a vault door closing. We have seen no paint lines, overspray or other signs of paintwork at all. The chrome and other bright-work look excellent with a brilliant finish. The original alloy wheels have a great finish and no curb rash. Even the Michelin tires appear to be original so they only have about 5,000 on them and are correctly sized 205/70R14. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. This Mercedes has absolutely no rust issues. As one can seen in the many photos of the underside, this 450SL is very clean underneath. We have also included specific photos of the rockers, lower front and rear quarter panels, and other areas on the car most prone to rust to show how nice it looks. Interior The Light Tan Leather (204) interior of the 450SL looks absolutely superb. The seats look just as good in person as they do in the photos with no tears, rips, or split seams. The seat is not overly worn in the typical are on the driver"s bolster where the drier gets in and out. Please note that these appear to be the original seats and skins, not some cheap aftermarket covers or replacements. All of the gauge faces are crisp and clean and the lenses are crystal clear. The carpet looks terrific with no rips or holes. The original door panels look spectacular with no cracks or splits, and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The dash is in great condition with no cracks, fading, or sun damage. The Dark Brown (746) convertible soft top is in excellent shape with no rips or split seams, and the rear windows are clear with no fogginess or yellowing. This car has never been smoked in; there is no aroma of cigarettes what so ever, obviously no burn marks, and the factory lighter looks brand new and have never been used. The trunk is very clean and nicely detailed with the original spare tire and rim, jack, and tool kit with the correct Mercedes wrenches. Please note that the original spare tire information card is still attached to the original spare tire. The Mercedes first-aid kit is complete and also still with the car. The excellent condition of this all original interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this Mercedes has received throughout its life. Mechanical This 450SL appears to be in great mechanical condition. The engine starts right away every time, idles smooth, and runs great. It is an exceptional driver that feels nice on the road. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 60mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to a stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that it shifts well, runs great, there are no vibrations, and the car performs quite nice overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. It runs cool and does not overheat. The gauge shows that the engine makes great oil pressure. Also, the engine bay is clean, nicely detailed, and correct as one can see from the photos. Please note in the video that all of the warning lights work properly. They light up when the key is first turned on and then go off when the engine is started. There are no "check engine" or other warning lights that stay on. The horn works as do the fog lights, headlights, brights, turn signals, interior lights, indicators, wipers, power locks, and fan. All of the gauges work, including the clock. The original Becker radio works well, gets good reception, and sounds great. This Mercedes has plenty of power with the 4.5 liter engine V8. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the top down on a beautiful day. Overall Condition Overall, this 1979 450SL is in remarkably fantastic original condition and is a truly and investment grade classic. It is an exceptionally rare find with only 5,145 original miles. This car is a premium example and truly on the best SL"s currently on the market. The original two-tone color combination is very rare and desirable. The market for the R107 body style SL Mercedes is very strong right now, particularly for top examples like this one. This Mercedes is a great value and will only appreciate over time. The stunning, condition, the colors, and the extremely low mileage make this Mercedes particularly important and virtually impossible to duplicate. Someone could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort. Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call with any questions. Photos Video (513) 891-2986 9213 Blue Ash Rd Cincinnati, OH 45242 sevenhillsmotorcars.com
