This car drives great has no known mechanical problems and I have listed what I believe is coming due, completed a recent oil and service, put in a new battery, new DVD Navigation OEM unit, Drives great, AC works great, Leather in very good condition not cracked as Garage Parked, Garage Door Integrated 3 button system, power seats, Integrated Phone, Tinted Windows, and much much more. NO ACCIDENTS NO MAJOR BODY REPAIRS, drives like a sports car -so powerful. This car was bought as my first car and I have had it since I bought it in 2001, I gave it to my brother to use (who passed away) and it was returned to me upon his death so It has been in my family since I bought it-only 2 owners. We have meticulously serviced this car (when in CA at Bimmers Clinic by George and when in NJ at City Auto by Tony), garage parked, all OEM parts and still drives great. This is the last M Sport 7 Series made by BMW, aggressive styling, staggered wheel and tire setup, 2001 is the last year of production and is certainly the best of the generation. They incorporate many small aesthetic and functional improvements, such as the color-coded rockers and lower panels, clear indicator lenses, facelift refinements, illuminated exterior door handles, and 4.4 liter VANOS engine, which is considerably more torquey than the earlier 4.0 liter engines. The sport package was introduced for the 1999 model year and featured the gorgeous staggered 18-inch M parallel alloy wheels (still some of the most attractive BMW alloys ever, in my opinion), M-Technik suspension (stiffer shocks, stiffer springs which are lower in the front giving the car a great rake), shadowline trim, color-coded trim, three-spoke M steering wheel, sport seats, higher stall speed torque converter, and shorter 3.15 differential ratio. This fully featured sport package was available only on the short wheelbase car, and in the eyes of most enthusiasts, the 2001 “shorty sporty” is the pick of the bunch. THE DISH WHEELS ARE SO ATTRACTIVE I GET COMPLIMENTS ALL THE TIME!
Upgrades and Features: Rear Windows are all tinted (some tint is peeling but very slight on edges), new battery, has built in Silver Motorola integrated dash phone (yes still works but require sprint service and some wires have lost rubber), trunk and car all weather mats, new NAVIGATION DVD UNIT 6590694290803 (old one was glitching but will be included in the sale as backup) with CA and NJ navigation discs, original M Sport Steering Wheel and Wheels, Power Rear Sun Shade and Manual Rear Window Shades ( the rear passenger small pocket window shade has come loose and doesn"t retract as well), M badging and License Plate Frames and Tape Deck with 6 DISC IN TRUCK OEM CD PLAYER (WORKS GREAT), OEM First Aid Kit and Trunk access panel, DVD Navigation OEM (NJ AND CA DISCS INCLUDED), SUNROOF
Known Issues: Body Wear and Tear has scratches in few areas (see pics), 2 minor dings, paint chips, black trimming is wearing in a few places from age, Rear Passenger Window makes a noise when powering down but still works (perhaps motor needs to be lubed), Park distance control went off after battery change (all sensor were working right before we changed battery) maybe a fuse or just park distance module but currently not turning on, the Integrated Phone wires are stripping, rubber has worn, manual rear window shade come loose doesn"t retract well, but power shades work great, dash dot matrix numbers have few dots fading but numbers all still clearly legible, Tires need to be replaced soon, almost at 6/32 for rear and 5/32 for Front (only used Michelin tires for this car given aggressive handling), cup holders are not retracting perfectly but work, the front one comes loose but is functional and rear one is not closing as well, but no mechanical or engine issues known by Owner
