Vehicle description

Open the door, and you"ll instantly remember what premium was like in the late 60s. Most of these muscle machines look best in black, but it"s hard to argue with a nicely restored red interior on this Olds. After all, with the exterior paint, red wheel wells of the W-30 package, and the red interior, you can tell people this is a triple-red coupe! But more than just a cool description, the restoration has made this looks fantastic. The interior is pristine, which is nice because it"s tough to retain the correct intricate pleating on the door panels and the bucket seats. The center console is one of those features that not only adds comfort, but also it"s an instant prestige symbol, too. The dashboard is a great exercise in driver dominance. The big chrome panel houses everything including the heat/defrost controls and original style AM radio with enough space to give them each their own zip code. Big, round gauges fill the instrument panel ahead of the driver and they are in original condition with crisp markings. Plus, you have the right driver-oriented upgrades like the cleanly-mounted auxiliary readouts and the aftermarket three-spoke sports steering wheel on the tilt column (the factory-style unit also comes with the sale.)
Open the hood, and the first thing you notice are the dual intake hoses feeding the chrome air grabber. And of course, muscle car fans will love to point out the lightweight red inner fenders. That"s the unmistakable sight of the performance W-30 package. Below that is the hallmark Olds golden block for the 400 cubic-inch motor, and that has the ultra-desirable 390925E casting. So, this shows all the right signs of being a proper Olds 442 that should have its original motor and a factory W-30 package. The whole engine bay has a great presentation that shows an investment into a proper restoration. They fully rebuilt it to be quite factory correct, aside from a few worthwhile upgrades such as the 1968 W-30 heads and an HEI ignition. So this one fires up easily and makes a terrific sound out of the Flowmaster H-pipe dual exhaust. It"s a powerful brute when you want, but it also never loses the Oldsmobile premium core. So features like the three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes make this a comfortable cruiser whenever you desire.
