WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
NO RESERVE
IT WILL BE SOLD! DON"T MISS THIS GEM This 1954 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight is a rare Holiday Coupe model that was sold new by Tucker Oldsmobile in St. Louis and was acquired by the seller in 2014. The car is finished in its factory color combination of Black with a Polar White roof and features red leather upholstery and gray seat inserts. Power is provided by a 324ci Rocket V8, which features a four-barrel carburetor and is paired with a four-speed Hydramatic automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes independent front suspension, power brakes, a power-adjustable front seat, power windows, a heater, and a radio. This Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight was featured on BaT in January 2014 prior to the seller’s acquisition and is now offered with an owner’s manual, service manuals, a brochure, and a clean Pennsylvania title in the name of the seller’s charity. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to organizations focused on helping individuals facing food insecurity.
New styling was introduced across the Oldsmobile lineup for 1954, including an increase in wheelbase and overall length for the Ninety-Eight. Lower-profile bodywork was combined with a wraparound windshield and rear window for a sleeker profile, and two-door models featured semi-teardrop shaped front and rear wheel openings. This example received a repaint in its original two-tone combination of Black (10) and Polar White (60) at some point during previous ownership. Following the seller’s acquisition two commissioned expert auto painters were brought in to wet sand the orange peel from the previous paint job that appeared to be heavy on orange peel. The finish was wet sanded and polished in order to bring the finish to a showroom gloss . Mounting holes visible in the photos under the trunk handle are from a Tucker Oldsmobile dealer badge which came loose during polishing but has since been reinstalled.
Everything has been checked on the automobile for safety. The carburetor has been rebuilt. All servicing has been done Including oil change and filter.
During the last few years of ownership the car has been driven several times and performed faultlessly.
I have been on the telephone for over one hour with customer service at ebay motors since I have spent over 90 minutes trying to upload 24 photographs that were perfect for Bring a Trailer but I"m not able to upload 24 photos here. I get constant messages stating "file is invalid". To see more photographs please open up the website Bring a Trailer and look up under "RESULTS" then simply type in"1954 Oldsmobile 2 door hardtop". You will see hundreds of photographs plus videos and also what the last bid was which was $11,000 under our reserve. We have listed this on since there is an urgency for funds for food banks that we are trying to fulfill and that need therefore
Please note that someone has hijacked this advertisement and has placed it on some scamming program. Be careful! On Feb-19-21 at 05:17:12 PST, seller added the following information: I have received several questions that for some reason are not posted however I will do my best here; for the person that I asked does the engine smoke while you"re driving it the answer is no that it does not smoke at all. The engine runs like brand new. Smooth and quiet.
For the person that I asked about the transmission and how it shifts my responses it could not shift up or down any better. If it was new it would be no distinction.
For the person who asked if the author"s photograph is the owner and the answer is yes and no . The author has owned this car for several years and donated to the family foundation which is a nationally registered 501(c)(3) that donates to food banks, homeless shelters Plus scholarships for those that meet the criteria of having either a part or a full-time job while still attending school and parents or parent living below the poverty level.
For the person that wanted to know is there any rust on the automobile and the response that we find absolutely no evidence of rust whatsoever nor any thing that shows that it was even repaired.
For the person that asked are they the original window stickers and door stickers on the car and the responses absolutely.
On Feb-25-21 at 13:14:48 PST, seller added the following information: NOTICE: I received the second inquiry today wanting to know if this car was the one on Bring a Trailer that only brought $25,000 at auction. The answer is YES it is.The car could not be nicer nor function any better that it does.A great car it is. .
