Up for sale is my beautiful 2013 Lexus RX 450 hybrid SUV that I’ve owned and enjoyed for the past 7 years. The vehicle was also a one-owner “Certified Lexus Vehicle” when I purchased it back in June of 2014 for $42,000. I’m an on-the-road salesmen in west Michigan and most of the miles are job-related. Although the vehicle has high miles, it’s been highly-maintained in these past 7 years. Because I depended on this Lexus for my livelihood, I spared no expense to make sure that it was always in good mechanical shape at all times. All oil changes and other maintenance was done in a timely manner and when it was due. I do have all my receipts for the work that was done since I purchased it and those records will go with the vehicle when it is sold. I’ve not been in an accident since I’ve owned it and this may be why the black Stargazer metallic paint still shines like the day that I bought the vehicle. For the record, the black leather interior is also in excellent condition. I also purchased a complete set of front, rear, and cargo area Husky floor liners soon after I purchased my beautiful RX. I’m including the original OEM carpeted floor mats (in excellent condition), along with the OEM cargo cover to protect any valuables that you might stored in the rear of this vehicle. You’ll also receive the complete owner’s manual case will all the original books as provided by Lexus when the vehicle was new.
As far as options go, this Lexus RX 450h AWD SUV comes with just about everything that Lexus offered in 2013. In fact, I can only think of 3 options that it doesn’t have-the Mark Levinson stereo system, Blind Spot Detection, and Pre-Collision Warning System (I’m not even sure if these options were available in 2013). I’ll do my best to list most, if not all, of the main options that the vehicle comes with. It has the Lexus Premium HDD Navigation system (with Lexus Enform and Voice Command), 19” Alloy Wheels (with Michelin Premiere LTX 235/55R19 All-Season tires that I just put on last year), Delay-Off LED Headlamps, Fog Lights, Intuitive Parking Assist, Wood and Leather-Trimmed Steering Wheel and Gear Shift Knob, Steering Wheel Mounted Controls, Power Tilt and Telescopic Steering Wheel, Auto-Dim Rear View Mirror, Automatic Temperature Control, Cruise Control, 3M Paint Protection Film (front end and outside mirrors), HomeLink garage door opener, Power Lift Gate, Security System, Glass Breakage Sensors, Remote Engine Starter, Remote Keyless Entry, Bluetooth Hands-Free Phone/Connection, Compass, and Outside Temperature Display. Performance features include: 3.5-liter 24 Valve, DOHC V6 engine with VVT, Front & Rear Electric Drive Motor w/Lexus Hybrid Drive, Electronically-Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission w/Intelligence, On-Demand All-Wheel-Drive, Electric Power Rack and Pinion Steering, 4-Wheel Power Assisted Ventilated Front & Solid Rear Disc Brakes, and 19” Aluminum Alloy Wheels. Safety Features include: Dual-Advanced Front Airbags, Driver and Passenger Knee Airbags, Front and Rear Side Curtain Airbags, Front and Rear Seat-Mounted Side Airbags, 3-Point Safety Belts for All Seating Positions, Front and Rear Outboard Seat Belt Pre-Tensioners w/Force Limiters, Front Manual-Height Adjustable Anchors, Energy Managing Crumple Zones, Side Door Beams, Vehicle Theft-Deterrent System w/Engine Immobilizer, ABS Brakes, Electronic Stability Control, etc. I could keep going with this list but it would take up 3 pages so I’ll end there.
Furthermore, I also had (for the first time) new brake pads and rotors installed at 160,000 miles! Think about that. The reason for this is, once again, because I’m an on-the-road salesman and I don’t do the normal “stop and go” like most drivers do in the city. The other reason is a seldom thought-of advantage of Hybrid vehicles-they have electric motors that help slow the vehicle down when you take your foot off the gas pedal! When you do use your brakes, it’s also referred to as “regenerative braking” because that process charges the hybrid battery at the same time. This is a great advantage when you think about it! This is the main reason that I purchased another hybrid vehicle; I do really love the advantages of owning a hybrid. On top of that, I’m averaging 25 MPG in my Lexus RX 450h, which is good for this size of vehicle.
The only minor issues that I can think of to mention is that the originally-installed Lexus windshield has several stone chips in it and the front edge of the hood has one small, but noticeable if you look for it, dent from a stone presumably. There is no rust anywhere on the vehicle nor even a hint of such. I ran the vehicle through an automatic car wash regularly during the winter to keep the salt from doing any damage to the body.
