Vehicle description

It is with mixed emotions that I am listing this car for sale. This Marquis was purchased by my Grandmother in 1972 and was her daily driver until she stopped driving in 2006 at the age of 87. She willed the car to me in 2008 when she passed away and I have owned it ever since. There are so many fond memories of her and the car, and the decision to sell it has not been an easy one. But I have come to the conclusion that I"m just never going to do anything with it. It needs to belong to someone who will drive and enjoy it as is, or restore it if they want. Mostly, I just want to see it go to a good home.
Anyway, enough of the sappy emotional stuff. What we have here is a true survivor-grade driver. Well used, but very well maintained and cared for throughout its life. Features the strong, pre-emission 429 4 barrel V8, rated at 360 horsepower. Runs and drives amazingly well for a 52 year old car. Engine starts easily and burns no oil. Transmission shifts smoothly and crisply, with no hang-ups or slippage. Road and wind noised are minimal. Steering is tight and smooth, and the brakes are strong and firm. Interior is clean, with no rips or tears in the fabric. Dash pad is in excellent condition, with no fading or cracks. Carpet is clean, as are the door panels and interior trim. Headliner is in great shape as well.
As for the exterior, the car has spent its entire life in a dry climate and has always been garaged. No cancer in the sheetmetal anywhere. That being said, it"s still a 52 year old car with original paint. There are numerous rock chips in the front end, and a few scrapes and dings in various places. The largest dent is one above the right rear wheelwell, which I have shown in the photos. As far as power accessories and features go, the headlight doors, windshield wipers, power windows, seat, and antenna all work as they should. A/C is fully charged and blows cold, but the compressor is fairly noisy when engaged. The AM radio works well, but the 8 track player does not.
Mechanically, the car is sound. Engine fires up with no issues, even when cold. The only leak is the power steering box, which should probably be rebuilt. The tires should be replaced, and it could use new front shocks as well.
