Vehicle description

Hello, This auction is for my 2006 Mazda NC Miata (MX5). I am the registered owner of this car and am not a dealer or re seller. This Miata runs and drives well. Bellow I will describe the car to the best of my ability. Regarding the details of the car I will not intentionally hide errors, flaws, imperfections or omit details (so my description of the car will highlight flaws or where improvements are needed). This Miata has been modified from stock and I understand that this may not be everyone"s "taste". This used vehicle is being sold as is, with no warranty, and this auction is binding with a no refund deposit required within 24 hours auction close. Payment must be clear before vehicle is to be picked up.
FEATURES: (short list - description will have more detail)
2006 Mazda Miata NC - American South West car - Oklahoma area prior to late 2016 (see carfax for detail) - 2.5 Liter - non-Stock engine is installed and running/driving - Mileage: Body has 119,220 (will rise slightly before auction close) 2.5L engine was installed at 116,144(approx) - New black canvas (more expensive then vinyl) installed in early 2017 -Energy Suspension Complete Suspension Kit installed mid 2018 (except for the steering rack which is included) - Lower mileage Bilstein springs/struts installed - LSD Limited Slip Differential from a lower mileage car sourced and installed with the energy kit - RoadsterSport MAX Power stainless steel header installed summer 2017 using the stock mid-pipe - 6 speed MT
HISTORY:
I purchased this Miata used from a online car dealer site in Nov 2016. Mileage at the time of purchase was 116,144(approx). I registered the Miata Dec 14th, 2016 but did not drive it. When I purchased the Miata it had a ripped top and needed common maintenance. After delivery,I discoveredI that the previous 2.0 engine was bad due to main bearing wear and engine knock(common NC1 issue). I had bought the car knowing that I was going to replace the 2.0 with the 2.5 (higher displacement stock engine). I sourced two 2.5 engines, one ford 60k mile 2.5 from Georgia and one 2.5 locally from a Mazda. The Ford 2.5 has more rated power than the Mazda. At the time of my install information on the swap was very limited so i was not sure which one would fit. I could not find a physical difference for the power increase when both engines were measured side by side. I suspect that the difference is in the computer or engine management systems. The local one was reported to have under 20k miles on it due to the car being totaled by the insurance company( I have no documents from this craigslist purchase). I intended to use the local one for mock up and measurements but after inspection of the two engines, I decided to use the Mazda 2.5 due to the physical condition being better. While I had the engine out I installed the 2.0 Miata oil pan, stock Miata oil filter adapter, and stock Miata intake. The oil pan needed a baffle removed at the bottom to fit the 2.5 engine, the engine balance shaft was deleted with a Massive Speed kit, and the stock 2.0 Miata pully was installed with a ARP bolt. A Fidanza Performance light weight flywheel was installed with a new Exedy stock style clutch disc. I drove the car during the summer of 2017 and into the fall of 2017. Winter driving the car without the LSD was dodgy because the torque wanted to break the rear tires loose so I parked it for the winter of 2017. I drove the car in the spring of 2018 but knew that I was going to be moving on to my next project and started the install of suspension parts, LSD, and bumper repaint in preparation for sale. The suspension bushing kit was awful to install and I installed it at a relaxed pace of 2 months. I left the front bumper repaint(due to rock chips and clear coat wear) for last and the color was too dark so I did not post the Miata for sale in 2018. I had custom paint mixed for the front bumper in late spring of 2019 and it still looks dark when shadowed (see picture). I"m not happy with the bumper color but I have no more time to give to the Miata. After I installed the bumper I observed the hood to have discoloration. The discoloration appears to be a contamination in the paint. I wasn"t working with chemicals on or near the hood so the best I can figure is that my sweat(no sun lotion) sun baked into paint. I put baking soda on top (not rubbed into the paint) and it appeared to absorb some but not all the staining. I have included a picture and will detail with a hand drawn attachment the marks. I"m not a detailing professional so I do not want to make the situation worse by messing with it. I have washed the car but applied no wax, sealers, or other products to cover or hide paint imperfections. The engine bay is going to be unwashed also so that any leaks or spills will be visible during inspection. I want the next owner to see the paint as it sits without cover ups applied. paint on the car overall is average or a little below average. Post swap, under my normal driving conditions I get between 21-25 MPG of 87 octane fuel. I have never taken this car to the track, or driven it in that manner.

INTERIOR: - Lower mileage NC tan leather seats installed (passenger seat had a dime sized impression in the upper back) bolsters are medium worn - Pioneer MVH-AV290BT touchscreen head unit installed (wiring needs finishing - see steering wheel controler) - Infinity door speakers installed (Pr5002is ? not sure on part number) - MTX Thunder 3.5 speakers installed behind the driver/passenger shoulder in the upgraded BOSE stereo position - AXXESS steering wheel controller - this needs to be rewired or ? the steering wheel controls do not work - Noisco sound deadning installed throughout the cabin and doors. - Used Weathertech floor mats - OEM replacement rearview mirror installed - OEM RX8 or Mazda 3 (I dont recall which one it was) shift handle - New shifter bushing - Brand new Mazda dealer cut key (old one wore down and needed a jiggle) - Windshield wiper stalk was changed to non-Miata Mazda stalk which provides more speeds than the stock 3
SUSPENSION, BRAKE, WHEEL:
- New BFG G-Force Comp 2 A/S 205/45/R17 - Energy Suspension Bushing Kit was installed in the spring/summer of 2018 - New MOOG brand outer tie rods installed summer 2018 - New Mazda rear control arm installed in the rear (one side had a slight bend) - Lower mileage Mazda LSD sourced and installed with Polyurethane mounts
WORK NEEDED: - The air conditioning does not work. When I pulled a vacuum on the system it was leaking or not holding the vacuum. I discovered multiple Schneider valves were leaking, and replaced 3. After the valve replacement the leak was still present. I suspect that the condenser may have a hole in it. - As I mentioned above, I am not happy with the front bumper color. The hood discoloration marks as mentioned above annoy me to no end and may need to be sent to a detailer or? - This car is loud. Think 5.0 Fox body Mustang with Flowmaster exhaust. I installed a Magnaflow muffler and a Vibrant brand resonator (midpipe) both I welded in and the welds look bad. The exhaust has a drone to it around 2,500 to 4,000 which is common after the 2.5 swap. So the next owner may want to consider a cat-back exhaust system. - The 2.5 motor does shake the car more than stock . . .so it the car has some rattles - This Miata had the optional TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) installed in it. The TPMS light was on when I got it and I could never get it working correctly. The dash light is not illuminated because I took a piece of black electrical tape and covered the light from the rear of the gauge cluster (this is the only light done this way). The TPMS sensors are still installed in the wheels and I would highly recommend that the next owner remove them completely at the next service. The TPMS sensors require counter balance weight to be added to the wheels. - The rims show curb rash - The convertible top was installed by me. At the time there were no guides or instructions, and while the top fitment is good there are a couple areas that I think do not look quite right. - The rear muffler required me to cut the small air deflector on the underside of the bumper. - There is 1 keyless entry remote. At the time of this auction I can not find it. I will update when the remote is found. - Note: The Miata needs a alignment performed due to the replacement suspension parts/bushings. I have only moved the car around the block and my driveway since the suspension bushing install. - I removed the carpet backing pad which was worn and clumpy. The carpet has more movement than stock if you were to not use floor mats .
