Vehicle description
Relisted due to non-payment bidder. No Reserve! A new opportunity has come my way and I need to clear some garage space. That means I need to get off the Manta Mirage I bought last year (though it pains me).
It’s one of the later models that uses the Mustang II front suspension and has the side frame rails around the fuel tanks. I looked for YEARS to find one of the later models like this one, in this condition, so this will be a rare opportunity for the lucky bidder These later models are becoming increasingly difficult to find. This one was never finished, never titled or registered (it’s quite virgin). As such, it’s sold with a bill of sale.
As I said, it’s never been completed so this is a NON RUNNING car. It’s an unfinished kit car and will require finishing (although much/most of the hard work is finished). The gel coat is almost pristine!
Currently it uses Corvair rear suspension and transaxle but I was going to change that to a Porsche 987 Boxster 6-speed (included rebuild likely required). It also comes with the very expensive custom-made adapter for that transaxle.
Installed is a GM 350 V-8 (2 bolt or 4 bolt unknown, likely a 4 bolt) and it turns free.
Also come with the standard tan Manta interior, however it will need a new windshield as the one that’s included is cracked. Those windshields are available from Pilkington Classics.
In addition, it has the uber rare Manta air cleaner cover (impossible to find these days). Included as well is the Manta factory radiator, a electric fan setup (both uninstalled) and the complete build manual.
Car is currently “mocked up” for transporting and as I said previously, it’s a kit car waiting to be finished.
Excellent father son project! Please understand due to the nature of the vehicle (unfinished kit car) no warranty is given or implied, vehicle is sold as is with no returns possible. I invite you to either visit yourself or have your agent look the car over in person :-) Note-if you do not intend to pay for and pick up the item you are bidding on Do. Not. Bid.
