DON"T BID OF YOU DO NO INTEND TO PURCHASE!
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly:
I would keep this car but I am traveling cross-country and it is not a car with trunk space. I looked into putting a hitch on but it can"t be done. So I am selling it and (ugh!) getting an suv with a hitch for the trip.
The car shows its age and previous owners didn"t put any love into it. I have owned it almost 3 years, put on 17,000 miles, mostly short city trips and weekend rides into the country. My farthest trip is an occasional 300-mile round trip to NYC. I have, along with regular maintenance, replaced the thermostat (11/16), tires (15,000 miles on them), serpentine belt ("17), front axle ("17), left tie rod assembly & boot ("17), brakes ("17), front left control arms and spindle ("18), battery ("18). The glove compartment and console cover were repaired as well. Prior to my purchase the motor mechanism was replaced for the convertible top, it works with no issues. There are no warning lights (check engine, etc.) on.
There are cosmetic issues - small dents and nicks you would see in a 15-year-old car. The HVAC controls as well as the levers on the drivers door have been rubbed free of much color. The seats have a good deal of wear and tear.
The quirks? The rear defogger and trunk light do not work, perhaps damaged when they replaced the convertible mechanism? The trunk release lid on the door and on the key fob strangely work only when they feel like it, which is approximately 75% of the time. The window control on the driver"s door will open/close the driver"s-side windows individually and will open the rear passenger individually as well as open/close all 4 windows simultaneously with the master switch. After a heavy rain in "18 the individual front passenger window control (on the driver"s door) stopped working, but the switch on the passenger door works properly. The radio does not work, but speakers do.These quirks are items that may bother you, they were never irritating enough to me since I usually have the top (and windows) down or everything up with the a/c on. The a/c works and has been recharged this week, along with an oil change.
