Under the hood of this classic cruiser is a hefty 429 cubic inch Ford Thunderjet v8 that sounds very healthy and moves this car down the road effortlessly. The engines were conservatively rated at 360 horsepower making these some of the fastest thunderbirds produced to date despite their increased size and luxury. For the 5th generation thunderbird, Ford decided to give them a larger platform and start moving them closer to Lincoln as the company chose to emphasize the “luxury" aspect of these cars. The interior shows just that, a spacious and plush cabin that you would find in some of the most sought after luxury cruisers of its time. With options such as air conditioning, power seats, power windows, power steering, and power brakes.
