Vehicle description
This Lexus 2002 SC430 is loaded with a host of standard luxury and performance features, the Jet Black hardtop convertible with Ivory interior is also in very nice condition. The car had 3 prior Florida based owners and was serviced at the dealer for most of its life. The engine was replaced with a lower miles motor - see below.
Feel free to make an offer - it wont last!
My hobby is to buy a car and drive it (over 7 months in this case) while i make any repairs it might need including paint and mechanical repairs. I am a retired ex race car mechanic and have a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering and an associates degree in internal combustion engines. If I break even or make a few bucks over time i am plenty happy.
See list below for what i did to this vehicle - It would have cost you at least $2750 for the same exact services that I performed, if purchased from a dealership.

The paint is in good shape, although not perfect, with only a handful of minor flaws (small door dings, scratches and paint imperfections - see images). The car had cat claw scratches on the hood and a 1/2 inch dent on the right fender when I got it I replaced the fender and repainted it along with the hood. The car was touched up where needed. The finish is very shiny and was recently power buffed with Meguiers cleaner wax/compound. The underside of the vehicle does not have any rust whatsoever (Florida car).
The carpets have recently been professionally cleaned (seats were even removed) and treated with Scotch Guard and the floor mats are brand new. The interior was never smoked in and has zero odor. The seats and belts were also professionally cleaned, dyed where needed and treated with leather conditioner. The drivers seat shows more wear than the passenger with the typical patina, showing fine lines in the leather (see images). However, overall the seats are in decent shape, very clean and not ripped.
The wood steering wheel and leather trim are in exceptional condition. The dash is perfect other than a tiny flaw to the right of the radio (see image). The headliner was professionally cleaned and is perfect. The navigation screen is rather cloudy but fully functional - 2003 navigation is poor compared to your iPhone so I keep the wood panel door closed and use my iPhone sideways in front of the door.
REPLACEMENT ENGINE HAS APPROX 75K MILES
Raise the hood and you"ll find a quiet smooth running 4.3-liter V8 DOHC engine that makes 288 horsepower. The car accelerates to 80 miles an hour or more with zero hesitation. It tracks perfectly straight at speed. There are no check engine lights or fault codes. The prior owner was a pilot and he bought the car after the owner before him lost the oil filter while driving (was not tightened correctly) and blew the original engine. The pilot owner purchased the car with 154k miles and replaced the engine with a JDM low miles engine (60k - 70k miles) and he also changed the timing belt, front struts (KYB Brand lifetime), ac condenser and upper control arms at the same time. The pilot only drove it 10,000 miles before he came down with an illness and needed to sell to me.
The oil and filter were recently replaced with full synthetic oil and a Toyota filter. The engine compartment was professionally cleaned and detailed. The air conditioning was recently serviced and blows 51 degree cold air (see image). The belts and hoses look like new.
All fluids have been checked and topped off full. The car needs nothing but a new owner that appreciates how nice this example is and that wants to drive a car that looks and runs like it is brand new for $8500. It can easily last another 70,000 miles with routine maintenance.
The tires are less than a year old and the front brakes were just replaced with Wagner Thermo Quiet pads. The BBS Forged Aluminum Wheels were originally $2500 and they are in very good shape. The rear brakes pads were inspected and should be good for 20k more miles. The calipers are super clean and painted with yellow caliper paint. The exhaust is in good condition (quiet and rust free),
