Vehicle description
I am relisting my truck after the buyer failed to establish contact/pay for it.
Land Rover brought the Discovery to America for the first time in 1994. This truck is a true piece of Land Rover history. A legendary icon and survivor. There are only a few of these trucks left in existence in this condition. A true collector"s vehicle.
Due to unforeseen circumstances I am selling my beloved 1994 Land Rover Discovery. Our Discovery has been in the family for years and always treated as a honorary member. This truck has been meticulously maintained and cared for. All regular maintenance done and oil changes performed every year/3000 miles (whichever came first) like clockwork. Last oil change completed less than 200 miles with Mobil 1 Synthetic. All fluids have been previously changed to synthetics as well. The coolant system was recently serviced and coolant replaced. The fan clutch has been upgraded to a high performance clutch to circulate as much air as possible and keep the truck running within normal temperature even under severe conditions. The spark plug wires have been upgraded to Magnacore (some of the best plug wires money can buy). The rotor, cap and plugs are less than a year old. It had a new battery installed about 2 weeks ago.
Land Rovers are truly amazing vehicles and they will last forever if taken care of. I would not hesitate to put my family in it and drive it across the 5 continents. Yes, it is that reliable. It has never let me down once. No matter the weather, it will take you and your family to your destination safely. We always get compliments and looks everywhere we go. It drags lots of attention. We have had great trips, memories and camping adventures in our Discovery. I have own many vehicles/trucks in my life, but there is nothing that compares to a Land Rover. The beauty of this truck is that it will take you in style to a fancy night out or to the worst and most dangerous/hostile and inhospitable environments on earth (deserts, jungles, blizzards, floods or in-laws) in a blink of an eye and without hesitation. Either way, its always in its element and fits right in every time, no matter the occasion.
I have taken a lot of pictures of the truck to give you a good perspective of it. But the pictures don"t really do justice to the beauty of the truck. As with any used vehicle, especially being from this era, there are some paint blemishes and there is a small section on the side of the hood where clear has come off, but it can easily be retouched. There are some dents on the roof at the back of the truck (driver"s side) and the panel area (on top of the the rear light, same side) which were caused while unloading some camping gear on our trip last fall. It does not affect the truck in any way, it is just cosmetic and it can be easily repaired. The dash has some warped on the front. It tends to happen over time because of the heat. There are kits online to easily fix it. I was hoping to fix these issues it in the spring/summer, but again, unforeseen circumstances are making us depart from each other.
The engine is very strong, sound and starts every time no matter the weather. As with any Land Rover, they tend to leak a little (old and new) but just a drop here and there, nothing out of the ordinary. If you know Land Rovers, you know exactly what I am talking about. 1994 & 1995 Discoveries are the prefer years among enthusiasts due to their engine simplicity and how easy is to work on them. Not much that can go wrong as they don"t have many electronics or sensors that can go bad. The A/C and heat work perfectly. There are no rock chips on any of the windows and they work as supposed to. It also has power locks.
The sunroof came sealed when I purchased the truck and never did anything to it. Apparently they tends to leak a little when it rains really hard (all Rovers do), so I just put a piece of adhesive around it to prevent any leaks. The seats are in great shape for their age. The driver"s seat is sagging somewhat in the middle because of the weight. I put a piece of foam underneath to give it extra support.
This is a 7-passenger truck. The trunk has 2 additional seats that can unfold as needed. It is also equipped with a trailer wiring harness (seen in the trunk). The roof liner is sagging in some areas, which just comes with age. I just took the truck to a detail shop (after taking the pictures) to have to bumpers and 4 caps/edges, as well as the lower center rails (under the doors) reconditioned. So they are completely black again.
The frame is remarkably clean/solid (see pictures), but there are some minor rust spots here and there. The 3 round fog lights (2 Hella and a work back light) on the roof rack were recently installed but not yet wired. The tires have about 70% thread on them. We are a non-smoking family, so the interior is in great condition.
I noticed on the Carfax report an odometer discrepancy, years before I became the owner. According to Carfax on 10/20/09, the vehicle was registered with 107,231 miles, but if you look right underneath it states that the Title was corrected and then the mileage appears back on its normal sequence. There is another section on the Carfax report which also states that the title was corrected. This discrepancy was no deterrent to bring her into our family years ago and we are so glad we did. There is also a "minor accident or vehicle damage" reported to the "right side" by Carfax years before I became the owner. When I purchased the truck I did a detailed inspection and found nothing wrong with it, so I guess it could have been anything/something minor. Carfax indicates that no airbags were deployed.
This is truly an amazing vehicle and a thrill to drive. It always put a smile on my face and I am sure it will do the same for you. This Discovery is truly one of the last of its kind and at the verge of extinction. I have only seen another one in this color once, it is an extremely rare color. These trucks have true character, a unique personality and it will serve its next owner faithfully for years to come.
The vehicle sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS. No warranty expressed or implied. Inspections are welcomed, but because of the pandemic appropriate protective gear must be utilized at all times. I have tried my best to describe the condition of the vehicle, but there might be other imperfections which may have not been captured in the description. I have additional pictures in case you need any in particular, but please don"t wait until the last minute to ask for them. I can try to accommodate your request if given sufficient time. I"m just not able to post all of them because Ebay only allows certain number of pictures per package. This truck is one of a kind, you won"t find another one like it, anywhere. . . . . . . .
It is the responsibility of the buyer to conduct and/to arrange for company/third party to conduct an inspection of the vehicle to satisfy any additional questions or concerns you may have before placing a bid. I reserved the right to cancel the auction at anytime since the vehicle is also for sale locally. The mileage may go up a little, since the truck is still being driven occasionally.
Cashier check, cash or Paypal is accepted as form of payment (See payment section). If payment is done by cashier check, it must clear the bank before the truck and title are released to the buyer. Thank you.
