Was shipped from Solihull to West Africa in 1990. I purchased it from original owner - a British mechanic - in 2007. Shipped from Dakar to US in 2020.
Frame has no rust due to remote Sahel climate where it has spent the last 30 years (see photos).
"Africa spec." so came with the following as factory installed: Dual fuel tanks and sediment bowl Oil cooler Upgraded suspension with a 2 in. lift 2.5 naturally aspirated engine was included on vehicles sent to Africa for their known durability Factory A/C unit also installed but not currently working - developed a leak in system New upgrades that were completed in US this year:
All wiring and electrics replaced All lights replaced - front and back Brakes (rotors/pads in front, shoes at back, servo, master cylinder, etc.) Slickshift kit (improves shifting on vintage LR"s) New shocks and recent coils provide a 2 in. lift Rebuilt axles with a new rear driveshaft (free set of axles included in price - rear is a Salisbury) Rebuilt front doors (hinges, seals, window regulators, handles, etc.)
