Vehicle description
1984 Jeep CJ7, this is what I personally call a barn find! ! This is kind of a pandemic story. I am from Ohio and we own vacation rentals in middle TN that we rent out to SXS and ATV riders who ride Brimstone,TWRA and Ride royal blue. Well since pandemic was running crazy in Ohio I chose to spend several months in TN working on our rentals. After some time, I quickly realized I needed a “fun” project instead of just work. I have always wanted to buy a nice older CJ and fix it up. So, I started my search for a nice older jeep with lower miles and as little rust as possible. I ran across this jeep and I was told it spent over 60K of its life on a ranch, NEVER seen the road except to get from the dealer to the ranch. It literally had a slow-moving vehicle sign bolted to the tailgate. The jeep sat a lot because it has a bird’s nest yes, a bird’s nest in the hood near the latch. I thought it was so cool I left it there when I was cleaning off the 30 years of dirt. So anyway, I bought the jeep and gave it a bath and decided to start my project……. I’m going to list by memory things replaced I’m sure I will miss a lot…. New brakes front and rear, replaced any hardware as needed including calipers, drums etc. New warn locking hubs. New starter New alternator New water pump and thermostat New belts and hoses New plugs and wires New coil New Battery New carburetor New valve cover gasket New U joints New longer braided steel lines New shocks Spring over suspension lift kit Removable sway bar links Steering stabilizer kit Drop pitman arm. New 33in BF Goodrich tires with white wagon wheels and a spare mounted to factory carrier. New fuel gauge Brand new radiator with electric fan New rear seat to match the newer front seats still in plastic (rear seat I mean) Best top brand. New chrome step bars New Bluetooth Bazooka sound bar (expensive with remote) One inch body lift kit to replace sagging wore out body mounts. 258 Inline 6cyl engine runs well. Dana 300 5 speed tranny with new boot and new shift knobs 4:88 Gear’s front and rear Spartan locker in the front Factory locking rear diff with new fluid and treatment. One-piece rear axle kit for added strength. New rugged ridge floor mats front and rear. I also have a new set of 4in lift springs that will go with the Jeep for an addition quick 4in of lift but the drive shafts would need lengthened. The jeep is in overall great shape. Rust issues will be pictured but are as follows: The driver’s side floorboard and lower side (under jeep logo) had a rust hole due to the older man who drove it let his chemical sprayer drip there for years. The floor pan has been patched with a jeep molded floor pan patch and will also be pictured. The hole in the side panel is still there and currently under the diamond plate side panels they are only stick on .The only other notable rust is the lower window frame and that will also be pictures. The frame is very solid with no rust and the jeep has overall very straight panels. I will be as detailed as possible with the pictures. This is a very clean Jeep and is one of a kind in my opinion, But if your looking for a new jeep please keep looking, This is a 1984…. it has the typical play in the steering and rough ride as all of them. But this is a very neat vehicle and would be a fun project for someone wanting a great starting point for a show project OR great to run around town or the trails and enjoy. The mileage showing on the odometer is 71,628 and IS ACCURATE yet the TN title I have does not show a mileage because the previous owner did not write it on the title when I purchased it. And if a vehicle is over 10 years old the state of TN does not ask about mileage. I live in Ohio near Dayton Ohio and I titled the jeep in TN because I had planned to leave it in TN. The jeep is currently at my house in OHIO waiting for its new home lol Good luck on your bid this is a NO RESERVE auction and will sell to the high bidder. I have WELL OVER 10K invested not counting the countless hours of time…… NOTE: This Jeep is listed as a salvage title to follow rules. This goes along with the jeeps history, The older guy who bought it new in 1984 had the title turned to a salvage/junk title shortly after to avoid paying taxes each year on it. At some point that was corrected because my title does not show any branding at all and is a normal clean TN title. NOTE: The jeep does not come with a top or doors other then the tube doors shown.
