| “Engine work needed but the car does Run & still looks Good. This car has close to 300k miles on it but the body is in better shape than what you would think (see pictures). We were trying to go past the 300k marker but a cooling system issue occurred. We believe something with #2 cylinder since this is the cylinder that brings up an intermittent fault. Installed sealant in the cooling system which in turn plugged up the heater core. We had a radiator shop try to unplug the heater core but they were unsuccessful. This happened in Feb/Mar 2019 timeframe and after that, we parked the car. Too difficult to drive this car during the cold winter.” |

Parts replaced to keep this car reliable : oil cooler lines, front wheel bearing, outer tie rods, stabilizer kit, mass airflow sensor, air intake boot, idler tensioner, water pump, gasket at the back of the coolant crossover pipe along with thermostat and all the hoses, radiator with engine cooler built-in, starter, manifold gasket kit & rubber plenum, all rotors, brake pads, calipers, front struts, front springs & bearing plates, battery, fuel injectors, spark plugs & ignition coil banks, (3) O2 sensors, oil leak at oil filter base, air conditioner repairs and finally, (4) new Cooper Zeon RS3-G1 230/50R18 tires (50k mile warranty with road hazard) installed on 7/30/2018 with 290,788 miles on car . Pros: Body looks good, engine runs and no other drive-train issues we are aware of, head-up display (check this out if you are unaware of this option), clean clear Illinois title immediately available , newer tires, moon-roof works & seals well, oil life indicator (longer time to safely extend oil changes), air ride in rear still works, multiple working ignition keys. Note: The full gauge cluster features a unique silver background. Important information such as speed, turn signals, and low fuel warnings can also be projected on the windshield through the optional EyeCue head-up display (HUD).
Cons: Engine work needed , headliner hanging, seats need cleaned, uses a 1-2 qts oil between oil change going by electronic change indicator, clunk noise can be felt & heard in steering wheel, small areas of paint peeling & a couple of spots with rust (see pictures), all lug nut covers were removed. Also, during visual inspection found rear passenger side torsion bar bracket was broken off, CV boot on the driver side is open. I tried to attach a PDF file with additional information but was unsuccessful so just attached a screenshot of the private party pricing range for a fair condition from Kelley Blue Books.
