Vehicle description

1960 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-door post / Roller / Custom / Restomod Project This has been a project for 5 years and sat idle for 2.5 of these years. I have had setbacks financially, setbacks on other vehicles I own and kids going to college. A resto project will have to wait for another day. Maybe you can take it over and make it your own. I NEED THIS CAR GONE but like all other project cars, the seller takes a massive hit. You will just need to see the diamond in the rough! My original plan was toget this finished before kids went to college but hey, life gets in the way sometimes. I know, I know, guys have told me to just finish this and drive it.But after much consideration I need to cut my losses and move on. This is your chance to take over a value priced and well-built project and turn it into a gem. This is a complete 1960BelAir VIN # 01511A167323 made in the Atlanta assembly plant (which had recently been torn down). It was going to be a restomod and still is but, to get it the way I would have wanted, it would take another sizable chunk of cash to do the things on my list. I have other priorities right now. I will be completely transparent in my costs and today I am only looking to recoup some of those major costs. I have close to $12K in the overall project (with receipts) and if you have ever done a full frame off project before you know that this isn"t far off. This is not a concours restoration and it was never intended to be. It’s the kind of project that will look good when finished and will become car show worthy on weekends and sunny days. It’s still a blank slate and you can make it what you want.
Message me with questions, I"m happy to answer. I"ll try and break everything down for you: CHASSIS : All new: • Springs rear • Shocks rear • Bushings rear • Drum brakes rear • Brake Cylinders rear • Driveline / u-joints • Disc brake conversion with power booster from CPP • Front bushings • Front springs • Ball joints • Lower a-arms • Front shocks BODY • Doors are ready for paint • Decklid is ready for paint • Hood needs some additional work • Main body needs some addition bodywork on the lower portions around the rear fender wells • Trunk seals need new metal fab • Trunk pans need to be welded in place (currently cleco in place) • Custom frenched taillights are ready to be welded in. • 85% of the body work has been done. New metal in most cases, blocked and primed with a gray urethane build primer. • Front fenders have been modified and the front body line removed • Door handles are intact but the locks have been shaved • Trunk lid lock has been shaved. • New metal floor front/ rear • New metal trunk. 4 Piece metal floor purchased from Classic Industries. OEM spec. • Hood has holes welded in for the lettering at the front edge. • Cowl grille has been modified for a sleeker look. • Wiper delete ENGINE • NO ENGINE will come with this project. Drop in your own LSX or big block. TRANSMISSION • NO TRANSMISSION will come with this project. The drive line will come with it however. • The rear end gear is a factory 3.73 coded highway gear and the tag still remains on the differential. Tracks and rollers need work. • Have parts for rear side panels. • No door panels • NEW black floor carpet • NEW kick panels • NEW rocker panels • NEW sill plates NEW PARTS sold with project • NEW Windshield from #classicindustries • OEM Gas tank w/cap • OEM Gas tank sending unit • Door mirrors • Carpet (black) • Full electrical wiring harness MODS MADE • Windshield wiper delete • Heater delete • Center dash speakerdelete • Rear turn signals and lights from 1964 Impala • Front Fender body line • Rear body lines • Taillight panel • Deck Lid lock delete(plan was to automate) THE GOOD • This could be a great project for someone who is willing to finish. It"s a bit of a rare car in that you don"t see many of these from 1960. You"re getting a great value. My loss is your gain. THE BAD • I don"t have all of the chrome parts that a purist restoration would need, which is another reason this was a restomod, it could be anything you want. • Rust, there was a lot of rust to overcome hence the new floors and trunk pans. Overall its back to a solid car after most of the surgery. THE UGLY • I have most of the trim pieces, but some are missing. • Parts. . lots of parts and I have everything tagged and bagged. Some bolts and things may need to be replaced. THE DEAL There are a lot of things to consider that go into price and what is fair for both parties. I am ready to SELL. This starting bid price is my lowest offer. It’s an ALL-IN PRICE.A lot of the tough stuff has been done but you will most likely want to put your own spin on things. I have been a member of since 1998. Check my profile. I am not a broker. I am the one who has done all the work that you see. No one knows the project better than I do. This just needs to go to a good home that can make it their own and produce an amazing car when its complete. I will do a PayPal deposit and a cash deal if you prefer. OR we will have to work out arrangements to pay in full via PayPal and the BUYER PAYS THE TRANSACTION FEES. The starting bid is the lowest I am willing to take with no reserve. I will let this auction run till the end please don"t ask to close early unless you are prepared to pay15% above the current bid price to end it early. I reserve the right to end the auction if a buyer presents themselves elsewhere. I have over 800 photos of the process and what all has been done. It"s a diamond in the rough and just needs a new home to finish her up. Thanks for looking and reading this far. .now start your bidding and bring a trailer!
