You have found a very fast and very fun performance sedan. These Grand Prix GTP"s are an absolute blast to drive and are kind of a "sleeper" but with a refined 3800 Series III Supercharged V6 pumping out 260HP and over 280ft lbs of torque, it"s anything but "dormant". This rust free, one owner example is finished in Sport Red Metallic Red over Parchment leather and has a very striking look. This car is in it"s original condition with no aftermarket performance parts or modifications and no hacked in electronics, just how you want to find one. It is also very complete with all original floor mats, trunk mat, spare, all owners books along with both keys and remotes. These do not come up often anymore in good shape with fantastic ownership history and good miles so don"t miss this one. These photos including several of the suspension and undercarriage show the car has no corrosion and has never been damaged.
The body of the car is straight with no dings, dents or scratches. There are a few stone chips up front and a small chip in the rear bumper cover but other than a few expected minor blemishes on a car of this vintage, it is exceptionally nice. Glass is nice, windshield shows hardly any wear, sides and rears have a very light tint that is a bit older so if you are finicky, you will want to have it stripped and redone (less than a $150 ordeal). Tires are all matching and have over 70% tread life remaining, alloy wheels are all intact and other than a couple of minor curb scuffs they are in great shape with no chemical staining or clear coat damage. The headlights were faded as thy always are so I have replaced them with new ones so all lights and lenses are in impeccable shape including the fog lamps which are in good working order as well.
The interior is very clean and the car belonged to a non-smoker so there are no tobacco, pet or musty odors inside. Now, as you know, the AZ heat has some effect on our cars, you get a completely clean body and zero corrosion but the trade-off is some wear on the inside. The dash is all intact but does have a few fractures, nothing major, no pieces missing, not really all that noticeable but I have to mention that. The leather seats showed some aging so I had the front seats reconditioned and they look really nice. Carpets and headliner are in good shape with no staining, even the lights in the vanities on the visors work. The only thing on this entire car that does not function correctly is the heads-up display, I have had three of these and none of them have worked so it is a common issue, if that is a big deal for you I will perform the repair included in the buy it now price.
Mechanically this car is top notch. It starts promptly, engine is quiet and very powerful and the transmission shifts as it should. The car holds the freeway with authority and it is a real pleasure to drive. It has not exhibited any leaks, it does not overheat, even in 110 degree Phoenix traffic and there are no service or warning lights on in the dash. A/C is nice and cold as well.
Don"t miss this one, as I mentioned earlier, these are becoming more difficult to find and with the Pontiac brand in the rear view mirror, these final years of Pontiac performance cars are going to be sought after. I have priced the car very fairly at $6950 but I will entertain reasonable offers from serious buyer so I can help get you into this car.
