Vehicle description
You are looking at one immaculate, matching numbers 1962 Porsche 356 B 1600 Super, chassis number 210804, has been in the care of its current owner for 14 years and purchased in February of 2007 with approximately 26,800 miles . An earlier owner commissioned a $60,000 complete rotisserie restoration of the car, performed by Stroyer Brothers of Escondido, California and features some of the more exciting optional equipment of the time. The car currently has 3 4,540 original miles ( believed to be original miles ) and has traveled just over 14,000 miles since the restoration. The restoration was performed in 1990/91 and includes the original black California license plates , reading JBP081, and is one of 800 cars produced for the model year by Karmann . Originally the car was finished in a Smyrna Green with a brown interior, but during the restoration it underwent a complete change to the factory Silver Metallic (936) exterior and dark red leather seats, featuring red German carpeting, coco floor mats, head rests, Hella 128 clear fog lights, Porsche OEM seat belts, AM/FM radio (working) with dual OEM speakers, wood-trimmed steering wheel with deluxe horn and VDO clock. The car comes with its original Driver’s Manual , as well as the original full set Tool Kit . The interior restoration was performed by the award winning Autos International, as well as International Upholstery, both based in Escondido, California. It features the rare factory option headrests, known as the Schlummerrollen or “snoozing rolls.” The Blaupunkt radio still works, and works well behind the highly priced factory option, the original twin chrome loudspeaker grilles . The rear features twin occasional seats with folding seat backs, in pristine condition. The exterior shows flawless glass, and weatherstripping all around, with NO signs of rust. The 1582cc 4-cylinder boxer engine sits nicely under the twin-grille rear lid, and features approximately 88 horsepower. It’s the original, matching numbers engine (P*702761) , block #616/12, professionally rebuilt including a new camshaft, main bearing, piston and cylinders, lifters, distributor, clutch, fuel pump, rod bearings, intake and exhaust valves, ignition coil, seals, starter, generator, muffler, carburetors, gear shift linkage, brakes, voltage regulator and I’m sure I’m forgetting something. The battery box, undercarriage and body of the car shows no signs of rust , and look brand new. A rapidly appreciating classic with an incredible attention to detail (and a previous owner who has kept the car in immaculate condition)
