Vehicle description
1960 VOLKSWAGEN PANEL running project PROJECT. This bus is a running/stopping project that needs some fine tuning to make it a reliable driver. I saved this bus from the scrap yard in late 2007, spent a year making it roadworthy with many new components and upgrades. I went on to other projects and this bus has sat for nearly 10 years in the corner of my shop. This bus is a head turner, but definitely a ’10 Footer’. Located in York Haven PA. Current PA title in my name. Details: Body: Dents, Dings, Scratches, Pitting, Poor body work and single stage paint, front & rear glass is new w/ seals, 1 ½” steering box raise. All removables (doors, rear hatch, engine lid) were media blasted to bare metal. There is some rot on these parts, but were treated w/ rust preventative primer. Front floor has been patched prior to my ownership and some holes are still there. Holes in the floor behind the back seat. Cargo floor needs finished as there is a small section missing (photo). 8 Leg HWE repop full length roof rack included. Solid frame w/ a few crossmembers that could use attention. Battery tray is good w/ no holes. The body is not restored. Suspension: 4” narrowed CB Performance beam. All brake lines, hoses, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, brake shoes new. WIDEFIVE.NET flipped front spindles, new straight axle transmission professionally built by TH Transmissions in Tulsa OK. Notched rear springplates. All wheel bearings, seals replaced. !5” bus wheels. Two (2) spare 15” bus wheels. Brakes are fully functional w/ working parking brake. Interior: Original front bench seat upholstery, original speedometer, turn signal switch, knobs etc. Original M-Plate on non-walk thru bulkhead. Original VIN plate in engine compartment. Bay window rear seat. Rubber floor mats front/back. Seatbelts. Ignition switch w/ key. All electrics work. Engine: 12 volt. Good running 1500 sp. New carburetor & fuel pump. New throwout bearing. Unknown condition of internals. Runs like a top & starts right up. Gas tank cleaned w/ no holes. Notes: driver door does not open from outside handle, must reach thru window to open. The shift linkage needs adjustment. It seems like the clutch does not disengage. Can not put the bus in gear with the engine running. Complete unrestored 1963 front axle assembly & transmission w/ RGB axles included if you would like to return the bus to stock height. * * PLEASE UNDERSTAND: you are bidding on a 61 year old vehicle. This is not a restored bus. The bus is extremely lowered. If you do not have experience with lowered buses or know what it takes to remove the rear wheel on a slammed bus, DO YOUR RESEARCH before bidding on this one. Tell your shipper the bus is EXTREMELY LOW to the ground so they have the right equipment to load it. I DO NOT have the EBAY APP so please do not message me through the APP. I can answer any questions through standard messaging/text. I have sold 3 other personal vehicles thru Ebay and all transactions went smoothly w/ no issues. * * NO RESERVE. Bus must be picked up within 2 weeks of end of auction. Immediate deposit of $500 for winning bid. Cash, Bank Check or Wire Transfer only for remaining balance within 5 days of end of auction.
