Vehicle description

One of the coolest Square Body Suburbans out there! I’ve never seen one like it! I got it out of sunny, dry Nevada. In the early 90’s it was built as a “showtruck” loaded with “Sight and Sound” electronics by a Stereo Company. Some low life stole it from them and strippedthe electronics out of it. It was later“recovered”, thus it has a “branded” “rebuilt-total loss” title. The truck was lowered giving it the “California Rake”look. The body has been primed and thenhad the “wood grain” effect added using “Polyurethane Stain”. Drip moldings above the doors were shavedoff. The roof was sprayed white satin, both for the look and to help keep it cooler inside. Looks good from 5 feet away. Up close you can tell it was a rattle can job.Glass is all good. Power windows work, although the rear door windows only work from the door switches. “Ghost Grill” with all lighting behind it. Dash is from a 1963 Chevy Truck with (correct looking)electric gauges that all work. Thespeedometer works however the odometer does not. So, true mileage unknown (but who cares on avehicle like this?) Pioneer Stereo (withremote) works good. AC blows cold butthe Rear AC Unit fan works but there is no cold air. The lines are connected under the hood but it seems like the Freon doesn’t get to the rear unit. Clogged line maybe? I don’t worry about it as the truck stayscool inside, even on our 100 degree+ days here in SW FL. Seats, carpet, door panels and headliner appearoriginal. They are about what you wouldexpect for a 30+ year old vehicle. Dirtybut functional as they are. Some of thechrome is peeling off the front bumper (pictured) but still looks verypresentable. Floors, rockers, bottoms of the doors are all rustfree. The only issue (pictured) is onthe tailgate, which seems to be a common weak spot on these trucks as I’ve seenseveral with minor rust in the same area. Appears to be the original TBI 350 engine. Starts and runs good, drives good. Electric fan on the radiator keep it runningcool in any traffic/heat conditions. Also has a “gear drive” replacement for the timing chain. Sounds cool! Smokes a little on startup aftersitting overnight. I’m thinking hardenedvalve seals. Doesn’t bother me. I’d jump in and drive anywhere. This is not a flawless show truck (any longer!). It’s over 30 years old and it has beendriven. That said, (and humbly I saythis) I’ve owned over 50 Classic Cars in my lifetime (including 6 SquarebodySuburbans). This truck gets more looksand “thumbs up” than any other classic I’ve owned! Everybody loves this truck! You will too! Fly in to RSW and drive it home or I"ll be glad to assist your shipper. Time for me to move on. I have too many cars again. I haveit priced it to sell locally at $8950 so I do reserve the right to end thisauction early if needed.
Scammers, don’t bother. I’m an old manand I’ve been tried by some of the best and I survived. I don’t need any help selling, thank you. I’ve listed it with a low reserve (imho). I want to sell…don’t have to. Bid with confidence. Bid to win! Check my feedback. I’ve been aproud member of the Community since 1999. No “gypo games” played here! Thanks, Kane Keywords;ratrod.
