TEXAS AUTO DEALER WITH CONSCIENCE FIXED PRICE AUCTION ? THE LOWEST ANYWHERE I have had significant problem with dead bidders due to my low price with no reserve auction style. Dead bidders bid because they love the car but fail to pay when they win because they do not have the money. For those following my auction, you will realize that despite having quality cars, I still offer them at the lowest prices. The problem I have been facing is that dead bidders with no money or plans to buy a car compulsively outbid real buyers and never respond to emails. Some have said their computers were hacked into and the bidding was done by hackers. Some said they did not take time to read the full description of the item and the terms of the auction. Some bided, disappeared, and never followed through or respond to their email. The bottom-line is that whatever the reason in the minds of these dead bidders, they are messing up my auction. It takes time to prepare for auction. There is also listing fees and final value fee in eBay. When auction ends, will usually send congratulatory email to both buyer and seller but soon find out that the winning bidder has no money or plans to buy. Those bidders bid because they like the low price. I called and had discussions with and have decided based on advice received to change style and go with fixed-priced (buy-it-now) auction. To make this happen I will offer my customers no room to doubt if they have a deal buying from my auction.
